LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Lively has intensified her legal battle against 'It Ends With Us' co-star and director Justin Baldoni by blaming him for a significant drop in profits for her business ventures.

In a new federal lawsuit, the 'Gossip Girl' alum alleged that a coordinated “smear campaign” against her led to a drastic decline in sales of her haircare brand, Blake Brown, and her drinks lines, Betty Buzz and Betty Booze.

Blake Lively seeks additional damages over alleged smear campaign

Blake Lively is now seeking additional damages, accusing Baldoni of orchestrating a targeted public relations attack that severely harmed her brands. Lively’s lawsuit points to a startling 78% drop in sales for Blake Brown, which she claims occurred after the alleged smear campaign was launched.

According to court documents, the negative publicity that followed the campaign caused a significant decrease in retail sales, which was “completely at odds” with the high consumer satisfaction scores the brand received before the backlash.

The lawsuit reads, "Based on internal sales projections, the sudden and unexpected negative media campaign launched against Ms Lively depressed retail sales of Blake Brown products by 56-78 per cent."

It further added, "This dramatic drop was completely at odds with the high satisfaction scores that Blake Brown products received in the significant consumer testing performed before launch or its initial success after launch."

"Around the same time, the social media accounts for Ms Lively’s brands- including Betty Buzz and Betty Booze were flooded by hateful comments, which began to echo through other social and traditional media outlets," the lawsuit went on.

In her updated lawsuit, Lively is seeking both "punitive damages" and "a money judgment representing compensatory damages, lost wages, earnings, and all other sums of money," along with "interest" on these amounts "in an amount to be proven at trial."

She also demands "an award of money judgment for mental pain and anguish and severe and serious emotional distress, in an amount to be proven at trial."

Lively's legal team told Daily Mail that their client has faced "further retaliation and attacks" since she decided to speak out about her allegations against Baldoni.

Critics took to the comments section of the Daily Mail article and accused Blake Lively of causing her own business struggles, with many arguing that her sales decline began before her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.

One reader said, "Trying to justify her exorbitant claim for damages. this would be very hard to prove. I suspect the business was failing before all this drama started."

Another remarked, "She started the "smear campaign" by making her lawsuit against him public and getting her little friends to publicly side with her yet she is blaming Justin for her booze sales dropping, she is a mean girl and I hope Justin wins!"

One commentator wrote, "No Blake , your ‘products have plummeted because of you , your actions and your behavior!! Truth comes out eventually!"

"She lost that all by herself with her own toxic behaviour," said a critic.

One person claimed, "Don't blame him. Your sales were dropping before you filed your lawsuit. This is what happens to "mean girls.""

Another added, "She needs to really look closely at her behavior. She did this to herself!"
