LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively will not attend the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5, due to Lively's ongoing legal dispute with 'It Ends With Us' director and co-star Justin Baldoni.

Despite 'Deadpool & Wolverine' from Marvel Studios receiving a nomination, Reynolds and his co-star Hugh Jackman, 56, will also not attend the annual awards ceremony on Sunday, as reported by Deadline.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's decision to not attend Golden Globes made 'well in advance'

According to sources, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman decided to not attend the annual awards ceremony "well in advance" of Lively's lawsuit filing and before the 'It Ends with Us' drama exploded.

The news comes after Baldoni's $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times, which revealed the 'Gossip Girl' alum's complaint against him, involving claims of sexual harassment and accusations that he attempted to ruin her career.

Baldoni's attorney Bryan Freedman declared the newspaper "cowered to the wants and whims of two powerful ‘untouchable’ Hollywood elites, disregarding journalistic practices and ethics once befitting of the revered publication by using doctored and manipulated texts and intentionally omitting texts which dispute their chosen PR narrative," per OK! Magazine.

Baldoni further claimed that Reynolds, who was not on the production team or in the movie, harassed him at their New York City apartment during a meeting with the Hollywood power couple and accused him of fat-shaming his wife after he asked her weight for a scene in which he had to pick her up.

The 'Five Feet Apart' director claimed that the altercation with Reynolds was "delivered, perhaps intentionally, as other celebrity friends were coming in and out of their penthouse".

According to the lawsuit, Reynolds was "so aggressive" during the meeting that Baldoni felt "compelled to offer repeated apologies, despite his question being entirely reasonable and made in good faith."

"Nothing in this lawsuit changes anything about the claims advanced in Ms Lively’s California Civil Rights Department Complaint, nor her federal complaint, filed earlier today," Lively’s lawyer said in a statement in reaction to Baldoni's filing.

Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser confirms she won't make jokes on Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni drama

Comedian Nikki Glaser, the host of the 2025 Golden Globes, has confirmed that she will not bring up or crack jokes regarding the "hot-button" Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni controversy on Sunday.

"I think the Blake Lively–Justin Baldoni thing is such a hot-button thing right now that even a mere mention of it will seem like I could be on the wrong side of things, even though I would never be," Glaser, 40, confirmed to Yahoo! Entertainment.

She added, "I also don't want to give his name any — I'm mad I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don't need to say it anymore."

Lively is "ready to tackle" her legal battle with Baldoni, according to a source who spoke to PEOPLE. According to the insider, Lively "enjoyed the holidays and very much tries to live in the moment right now".

"She still believes she's doing the right thing. She's ready to tackle whatever comes her way," the source added.

In her lawsuit, Lively claimed that Baldoni had caused her "severe emotional distress" and had planned a campaign of "social manipulation" to harm her reputation.

In a statement released on December 21, Lively told Us Weekly, "I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted."

CBS and Paramount+ are going to broadcast the 82nd annual Golden Globes live on Sunday, January 5 at 8 pm ET.
