Blake Lively claims Justin Baldoni’s tactics left husband Ryan Reynolds and their children traumatized
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s infamous feud, which started on the sets of ‘It Ends with Us', does not seem to be ending soon; in fact, it just grew bigger.
Lively, 37, recently filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of causing "severe emotional distress” not only to her but also to her family.
As a precursor to the lawsuit, the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress also filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department, narrating all the distress caused by her co-actor and director of the film.
Blake Lively claims Justin Baldoni’s actions caused her children trauma
In Blake Lively’s recent complaint, she accused Justin Baldoni of resorting to “sinister retaliatory tactics” of smear campaign to paint her as the villain amid the ‘It Ends with Us’ drama.
However, she claimed, per Hello! magazine, the effect of Baldoni’s alleged retaliation had an “extreme emotional impact” on Lively and her family including her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their four children.
The filing alleged, "The emotional impact on Ms Lively has been extreme, not only affecting her, but her family, including her husband and four children.”
"There are days when she has struggled to get out of bed, and she frequently chooses not to venture outside in public. While she has fought to maintain her personal life and business interests, behind closed doors she has suffered from grief, fear, trauma, and extreme anxiety,” continued the filing.
The complaint further continued, "She also has been experiencing repeated and painful physical symptoms as a result of this experience.”
Even the ‘Deadpool’ actor was said to be facing the effects of the strained situation as the filing alleged, “Mr Reynolds, too, has been affected mentally, physically, and professionally by his wife and children’s pain. Worst of all, however, has been the impact on their young children, who have been traumatized and emotionally uprooted in ways that have substantially impacted their well-being."
Blake Lively speaks out against ‘sinister retaliatory tactics’
Following her legal filing, the ‘Sisterhood of Traveling Pants’ star shared in a statement to New York Times her reason for lodging the complaint, as reported by Variety.
She shared, "I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”
According to the documents, Lively accused Baldoni of creating a hostile working environment. To address the situation, a meeting was reportedly conducted on January 6, to address the concerns, which was also attended by Ryan Reynolds and Wayfarer Productions' Jamey Heath.
She claimed that her co-actor made inappropriate remarks about her weight, and her father’s death among others.
As Baldoni reportedly agreed to the terms of not making inappropriate remarks, he and his team agreed to disagree on certain specifics. Nevertheless, production restarted the next day.
However, she alleged in the complaint that during the promotional period, Baldoni hired a crisis PR team to intentionally smear Lively’s reputation.
The filing claimed that when she came to know about the smear campaign, she experienced "mental, physical, professional, and financial harms that continue to this day," per USA Today.
She alleged that she had to back out from public appearances in fear of retaliation including canceling her scheduled appearance at ‘Saturday Night Live’ in September.
