LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: James Gunn, still in the process of finalizing the new Batman for 'The Brave and the Bold' in the DC Universe, has been urged by fans to ignore suggestions from Blake Lively regarding the casting.

While Gunn has received a variety of fan recommendations for the iconic role, Lively has thrown her support behind Brandon Sklenar, citing their on-screen chemistry in ‘It Ends With Us’.

Despite the film's positive reviews and the duo's apparent connection, fans are less than thrilled about Lively’s endorsement, as her suggestion seems more tied to her personal connections than to Sklenar’s acting abilities.

Blake Lively backs Brandon Sklenar for Batman's role in James Gunn's upcoming project

Brandon Sklenar has recently joined the growing list of fan-favorite choices for James Gunn's DCU 'Batman' movie, following the viral spread of a fan-made image featuring him in the role. Other names in the running for Batman include Jake Gyllenhaal, Jensen Ackles, Alan Ritchson, and Glen Powell.

Amid the buzz surrounding Sklenar’s potential casting, Blake Lively shared her endorsement on Instagram, tagging Gunn and writing, “So happy for you, my friend. They’re lucky to have you,” accompanied by clapping, red heart, and high-five emojis.

Lively also added, “Also, I’m seeing this Batman chatter. I volunteer you as tribute. @jamesgunn knows how to give the people what they need. And this, they need,” followed by a bat emoji and black heart emoji. In response, Sklenar replied with a red heart, bat, and smiling emoji.

According to Fandom Wire, Sklenar, though relatively new to the scene, gained recognition for his role as Atlas alongside Lively in the recent blockbuster 'It Ends With Us'. He also featured in Taylor Sheridan's 'Yellowstone' spin-off, 1923, portraying Spencer Dutton.

Blake Lively's endorsement of Brandon Sklenar for iconic role leaves fans miffed

Blake Lively's suggestion to cast Brandon Sklenar as Batman has left many social media users irked, with several slamming and mocking her recommendation.

One commenter slammed Lively, saying, “She must have a crush on him. Not seeing a Batman there.”

A Reddit user took aim at Lively, claiming, “This is the woman who tried to turn a movie about domestic violence into a Barbie-esque family outing, all so that she could claim accolades for doing nothing remarkable. I wish both her and her annoying husband would shut up.”

Another user questioned, “Why should we care about Blake Lively’s opinion?”

Someone else wrote, “And I should care about what she says why exactly? This isn’t to say I disagree with Brandon being cast, just haven’t seen him in anything so I have no clue if he can give off both Batman and Bruce vibes.”

A more supportive Reddit user shared, “Calm down, people. Trust Gunn. He’ll definitely choose the best one for the role.”

On X (formerly Twitter), one person said, “Why is she trying to ruin it. One of the most worst ppl in Hollywood.”

Another user shared a GIF of a girl looking confused and annoyed after hearing about Lively’s support for Sklenar.

One commenter simply called Lively’s suggestion, “Terrible casting.”

Another user mocked, “Does her saying matter there 😅”

Finally, one shared a GIF along with the caption saying, "Shut the f**k up."
