Blake Shelton's pals worry he's 'unhappy' over not having children with Gwen Stefani amid marriage woes
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blake Shelton’s friends are concerned that his desire to have children with his wife Gwen Stefani could affect his happiness, especially amid reports of tension in their marriage.
While the couple, who tied the knot in 2021, share a deep bond, sources close to them increasingly worry that the lack of a child together is causing Blake to feel unfulfilled.
Blake Shelton longs for fatherhood with Gwen Stefani
Blake Shelton, 48, has no biological children, though Gwen Stefani, 55, has three children—Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10—whom she shares with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
Although Shelton has embraced his role as a stepfather, insiders believe that he’s yearning for the experience of having a child with Stefani, and his friends are concerned.
Following their marriage in 2021, Stefani and Shelton generated considerable speculation regarding potential parenthood.
A source told Radar Online, "Everyone said the reason they tied the knot was because Gwen is pretty serious about her religion and wouldn't want a child out of wedlock."
They added, "It's no secret that Blake really wants a child, but they've just gone radio silent on the whole thing because it's clearly such a sore spot. Blake loves Gwen's boys so much, but they have their own dad, so he can't completely fill that father role."
"Plus, he never got to do the baby thing, and his friends worry he's not happy," the source revealed.
The 'Came Here to Forget' singer doesn't voice his frustrations, but it's undoubtedly heartbreaking – he must realize that time is running out, according to a source.
"No doubt they're committed to each other even though they've had their troubles. They could be doing it on the down-low and want to surprise everyone in 2025, but that's not what they're indicating," the source concluded.
Gwen Stefani opens up about insecurities and marriage with Blake Shelton
Gwen Stefani opened up about her marriage to Blake Shelton in an interview with NYLON, in April this year. The 55-year-old singer discussed her relationship, career, and personal struggles, revealing some of the insecurities that have impacted her marriage.
"I had been going through those times where you're questioning, 'Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?'" Stefani shared.
She added, "In my own relationship, even though I know the truth of what's happening today, you still create drama in your own mind about your insecurities and what might happen. I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid."
Shelton echoed her feelings, adding, "It’s an insecurity we both have. These are conversations that she and I have with each other, 'Are you still going to love me when I’m old or if I forget who I am?'"
However, Gwen later concluded, "The truth is I am in love with my best friend, and all this s**t I’m thinking of in my brain, that’s all it is — I’m overthinking."
