VANCOUVER, CANADA: Prince Harry appeared “very emotional” as the Canadian Prime Minister delivered his speech at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 closing ceremony.

While the speech of the Liberal Party leader gained much traction on social media, a section of fans also noticed Prince Harry getting emotional during the Canadian prime minister's speech.

However, a body language expert claimed that the Duke of Sussex resorted to a special technique to hold back his tears during the emotional moment.

Prince Harry showed ‘real, genuine emotion’ during Justin Trudeau's speech

Trudeau delivered his speech in both French and English during the Invictus Games closing ceremony on February 16. At one point when he was giving a shout-out to the royal, Prince Harry was seen on the verge of tears.

Speaking about the moment, body language and behavioral expert Darren Stanton on behalf of Betfair Slots said that the Duke of Sussex showed "real, genuine emotion" and was "very emotional," according to The Mirror

Darren further revealed that Prince Harry supposedly did something with his mouth to hold back the tears at Trudeau’s encouraging words.

The body language expert revealed, "It’s clear from his reaction he was really on the verge of tears. This is a real show of humility.”

Speaking of the technique, Darren shared, “We see his eyes begin to well up, and if you look closely, he puts his tongue into his cheek,” before explaining, “This is something people do when they want to hold back the tears, but these are ones of elation.”

He also noted that the Duke of Sussex came across as "very selfless" amid the "powerful" standing ovation as he humbly accepted the applause while sitting.

"The fact he stayed fairly stoic and remained sitting down showed him as a humble guy, who is not afraid to show his emotion,” analyzed Darren, before adding, “He’s wearing his heart on his sleeve here.”

Nevertheless, he acknowledged the love by showing a thumbs up. The expert elaborated that it showed that Harry "really appreciated the love and support from the crowd, and wanted to properly acknowledge it." Nevertheless, he was "too emotional to respond with words."

He also added a note on Meghan Markle’s shout-out to Prince Harry as she shared a clip of the applause her husband received from the crowd on her Instagram Story, as reported by the outlet.

Darren added that her note of "So proud of you," indicated that the Duchess of Sussex "loves him very well" and of "genuine love."

The mother-of-two knows the Invictus Games "is Harry’s passion" and "wants to make a real show of support,” added the expert.
