Brad Pitt supports late Chris Cornell’s children as estrangement from his own deepens
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brad Pitt and his apparent troubled relationship with some of his children have once again been in the news after it was reported that he skipped or did not contact daughter Zahara around her graduation ceremony.
The 21-year-old recently graduated from Spelman College with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During the Sunday, May 17, event, she even dropped the A-list actor’s name as she walked across the stage to accept her certificate.
Brad Pitt supporting Chris Cornell's children to heal himself
Amid the renewed family drama, Pitt’s connection with late Chris Cornell’s children has resurfaced.
As per reports, the 2017 suicide death of the Soundgarden drummer left the ‘Fight Club’ star “devastated”. But he became a rock for Cornell's children — Christopher, Toni, and Lillian. It has been said that Pitt’s support for the late musician’s children actually helps him heal.
“A huge part of Brad’s sobriety journey over the last five or six years has been showing up for people, supporting them, and helping them step into the spotlight themselves,” a tipster revealed to RadarOnline.
Brad Pitt's relationship with his own children has suffered lately
The Academy Award-winning actor is even helping Toni build her music career. But as Pitt’s bond with Cornell’s children has gotten stronger in these years, his relationship with his own has been on the rocks.
The 62-year-old actor shares Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie.
Including Zahara, Pitt’s three other children have also dropped his last name, legally or otherwise.
Also, as per a 2024 PEOPLE report, the ‘Troy’ actor has "virtually no contact" with his adult children, but he can still visit his younger ones.
A source said at the time that “he has virtually no contact with the adult kids. His engagement with the younger kids is more limited in recent months because of his filming schedule.”
Brad Pitt misses his children
“[Angelina] has the kids most of the time, but per their agreement, he has visitation with the younger kids,” they added, who also asserted that “the reminders that he’s lost his children, of course, are not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”
Besides, according to the RadarOnline source, Pitt’s estrangement from his children has not changed “his fatherly instincts one bit, and he’s managed to channel it in a direction outside his own family, which speaks to Brad’s inherent generosity.”
“When it comes to Chris’ kids, he takes his obligation to them incredibly seriously! Through them, Brad is finding the kind of connection his own kids have denied him,” they stated.
