Passante expressed deep sorrow following the passing of Sheets, sharing a series of photos of the two from their time on the show. In her message, she noted that she had known him for many years and was “at a loss for words” upon hearing about the circumstances surrounding his death.
She conveyed her condolences to his family, specifically mentioning his wife Kimber, his son Brandon, and his granddaughter Zoe.
“I am at a loss for words! I've known Darrell Sheets for many years. I'm just so very sorry, to hear the circumstances of his passing. My heart hurts for Brandon, Zoe, and Kimber,” she wrote.
Passante also drew from her own personal experiences, stating, “I unfortunately lost a parent and a brother to similar situations. I would like to say to everyone, if you are struggling, if you feel hopeless or like no one cares.”
The TV star reinforced her message by urging those struggling to seek support, “I assure you they do!! You are not alone. Please reach out for help. You are not taking your pain away, you are transferring it to someone else.”
She further stressed the lasting impact such loss has on loved ones while encouraging those in distress to seek immediate support, adding, “There is always help… You can dial 988 on your phone to connect with a counselor and resources. Never suffer in silence!”
Authorities confirmed that the case remains under investigation, with Sheets’ body transported to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to a department news release.
Darrell Sheets remembered as cyberbullying claims surface and investigation continues
Meanwhile, fellow ‘Storage Wars’ cast member Rene Nezhoda suggested that ongoing cyberbullying may have contributed to Darrell Sheets’ condition prior to his death. In an Instagram video shared after the news emerged, Nezhoda reflected on their relationship, noting that their on-screen rivalry did not mirror their real-life bond.
“This was not an easy video to shoot. Unfortunately, Darrell Sheets took his own life. So he passed away,” Nezhoda began. “Rest in peace Darrell Sheets. Also I know Darrell would want something positive out of this, so he had a guy that [was] really really tormenting him lately. Cyberbullying,” he said.
Sergeant Kyle Ridgway, public information officer for the Lake Havasu City Police Department in Arizona, told Page Six, “We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation.”
In 2019, Sheets revealed on social media that he had suffered a mild heart attack requiring hospitalization. “I've been very sick for 3 months and two nights ago I had a mild heart attack, found out I have congestive heart failure and a severe issue going on with my lung,” he wrote, adding that he would need surgery.
Sheets later stepped away from ‘Storage Wars’ in 2023 and went on to open an antique store in Arizona known as ‘Havasu Show Me Your Junk.’ A&E Network, where the show has run for over 17 seasons, also released a statement.
It stated, “saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
