Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin open up about why they haven't married yet

In an interview for Cosmopolitan's Love Issue, published on January 27, Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin opened up about why they haven’t gotten married despite being together for seven years.

During the candid conversation, the couple made it clear that marriage isn’t a pressing concern for them. At one point, Culkin, 44, asked Song, "Do you not want to marry me?" to which she giggled. He then reassured her, saying, "I’m fine if we don’t. I just want to know."

Song, 36, revealed that she and the 'Home Alone' star had discussed the idea of marriage. She recollected, "I was like, if we eloped, my mom would have a heart attack that she wasn’t going to be there."

Culkin quickly shook his head at the thought of upsetting her mother, exclaiming, "I wouldn’t even!"

Reflecting on their journey, Culkin shared, "That the public is like, ‘Wait, they’re together and they have kids?’ Good. That means we did our job."

Song chimed in, "There was a point in time where I was like, ‘I must be in a simulation! I have two children with Macaulay Culkin!’"

The couple also reminisced about their first meeting in 2014, explaining why they didn’t immediately hit it off, and how they reconnected in 2017.

Brenda Song talked about wedding plan in 2022

In a 2022 interview with People, Brenda Song shared that she and Macaulay Culkin had begun to explore wedding planning while she was adjusting to life as a new mom to their 17-month-old son, Dakota.

She explained, "Wedding planning is so expensive and it takes up so much time. Being a new mom, we're so busy. It feels so convenient to be able to sit down and be able to get everything done all at once."

The former Disney star also pointed out how challenging it would be to fit wedding planning into her life as a mom. But, Song, who launched her wedding collection with Amazon Handmade, expressed her love for the online shop, highlighting its convenience. She mentioned that she can "stop at any time" while browsing.

She added, "I don't feel like I'm having to constantly make an appointment to talk to someone or run to the store. And it's really hard to do that, not only for new moms out there but for working moms or working dads or those going to school."

She continued discussing her wedding planning, saying, "I can do that at 11 o'clock at night, I can do it first thing in the morning, I can do it during nap time. I could do it during breaks at work. And that's what's so convenient and so advantageous about this."
