Brett Veach: Chiefs' General Manager claims Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship is nonexistent in locker room
KANSAS, MISSOURI: Kansas City Chiefs' General Manager Brett Veach recently detailed how Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship is almost nonexistent in the locker room.
He also revealed the locker room routine change with Travis Kelce going out of the way to meet Taylor Swift when she appears to watch the game live.
The unseen presence of Taylor Swift in the Chief's locker room
Veach discussed the team’s offseason and their aim for a third consecutive Super Bowl win on the '3 and Out' podcast.
However, the conversation soon shifted towards the relationship between Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift.
Despite Swift’s frequent presence at the games, Veach revealed that she remains an unseen figure in the locker room.
It is because there is a post-game routine where Swift does not come down to the locker room, but Kelce goes up to meet her, avoiding all the press.
Notably, the area outside professional locker rooms is typically bustling with media and photographers who would undoubtedly be drawn to the singer.
He said, “I mean she comes to the games and she’s up there [in a suite], and typically families come down [to the locker room area] to see the players. Travis goes up to see her, so I’ve seen her in passing.”
The dynamics of the Kelce-Swift relationship within the Chiefs is non-existent
Interestingly, Veach disclosed that the dynamic of the Kelce-Swift relationship within the Chiefs is almost non-existent.
Veach mentioned that beyond the initial few weeks, the couple's romance was seldom discussed.
He explained, “The only time that we realize it is when we’re looking at our phones during the TV timeout and CBS is zooming in on Taylor, you’re reminded that they’re together.”
Despite this, Kelce is treated with utmost respect by his teammates.
The Chiefs’ focus remains on winning games
Despite the media attention surrounding Kelce and Swift’s relationship, the Chiefs’ focus remains on winning games. Veach said, “[Kelce] doesn’t talk about it, players don’t talk about it."
He added, "You’d think you’d hear the songs at practice and all the guys getting on him, this and that. But there’s such a high amount of respect for each other in this locker room.”
Veach stayed hopeful that maybe, one day, he could meet Swift who began dating Kelce last summer and attended at least 13 Chiefs' games during the 2023 season.
He concluded saying, “It’s been a wild ride. And, you know, listen, maybe Travis will bring her around every now and then," Us Weekly reported.
