Britney Spears becomes legally single on 43rd birthday as her 6-month waiting period after divorce ends
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears has legally been declared single as the six-month waiting period following her divorce settlement from Sam Asghari ended.
The former couple finalized their divorce settlement on May 2, 2024, ending their 14-month marriage.

Britney Spears’ was declared single on December 2, after her six-month-long waiting period ended as per Rolling Stone.
The single status declaration coincides with her 43rd birthday. She has yet to publicly comment on the occasion but has continued to celebrate her independence through her signature dance videos on Instagram.
Spears and Asghari, 30, separated in July 2023, just over a year after their wedding. He filed for divorce in August 2023, citing "irreconcilable differences."
Asghari wrote on Instagram Stories, “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together."
"We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other, and I wish her the best always. S**t happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will just ask for everyone including the media to be kind and thoughtful," he added.
Spears also shared her thoughts on the divorce a few days later, writing, “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because it's honestly nobody’s business.”
She added, “I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality, and I think we all know that.”

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari's divorce was resolved amicably, with no disputes over their prenuptial agreement.
“The divorce was amicable, and the prenup was not challenged,” a source told People in May 2024.
The source added that Spears is focused on moving forward, saying, “Britney is continuing to flex her freedom and is moving on.”
Spears recently posted a video on Instagram wearing a wedding dress, captioning it, “The day I married myself. Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever done.”

Sam Asghari moves on with work after divorce from Britney Spears
Sam Asghari has also made strides in moving forward. Recently he told People that he has focused on work since the split.
“It’s the bed that you make yourself, and you got to learn how to lay in it, so it’s part of the lifestyle,” the model said.

He added, “You just got to keep it positive. You got to stay grounded and understand what the truth is and really just live with that rather than other people’s opinions.”
The actor and fitness trainer is set to appear in Season 3 of the popular Peacock series 'The Traitors', premiering next month. When asked if he’s been able to move on, Asghari said, “Absolutely.”
