Britney Spears hits back at 'jealous' friends for leaving 'incredibly sad comments' on her hair and looks

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears called out online trolls, along with her "jealous" friends, for criticizing her appearance in a recent post following her breakup with boyfriend Paul Soliz.

The 43-year-old pop star did not hold back as she took to her Instagram to pen a long post on Tuesday, April 8, to slam the online critics who left "incredibly sad comments," saying she looked "bad."

In the since-deleted post, the ‘Toxic’ singer opened up about her feelings for those who leave no stone unturned to speak negatively about her appearance.

Britney Spears’ post came as a response to the damaging comments on one of her other since-deleted posts. She sparked concerns among her fans as she showcased her chipped nails and messy hair while speaking with a slightly British accent in one such post, as per the Daily Mail. 

Nevertheless, the ‘Circus’ singer defended her appearance in her recent video and declared that no matter what the critics say about her looks and hair, she finds herself "beautiful."

The Grammy winner started the post, celebrating the advent of Spring, writing, "Spring is here," adding that she is "so d*** excited" for the same.

She then called out the people who left "incredibly sad comments that say that I look bad," and wrote, "I feel so sorry for you guys."

"I thought my hair was beautiful and I do have a cold and it has affected my voice," boldly proclaimed the singer, explaining the reason for her slightly British accent and child-like voice. 

She also hit back at those people "who said they were my best friend," noting they are putting obstructions in her life since they are "so jealous" of her.

She continued, "They will do anything to keep me from living my life and in my highest manner. I feel sorry for people like that."

Elsewhere in the post, the ‘Oops…I Did It Again’ singer claimed that she can’t even travel past the southern border for a few months. "And I have been held back from going to Mexico for four months and since flying and traveling is the main thing for my health and well-being, I do have a small virus," wrote the songstress.

Spears concluded with a positive message, writing, "Hopefully we can all be kind to one another."

She later shared another video and explained in the caption that she had a "serious cold" but is now feeling "better." "Why after a serious cold I’m so lazy… I do feel better !!! Inner thoughts of me Bored as hell 😳😳😳🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️😬😬😬🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂," the 'Inside Out' crooner wrote. 

Britney Spears parts ways with her boyfriend Paul Soliz again

Britney Spears' post about the negative comments came after reports emerged that she had broken up with her boyfriend, Paul Soliz, for the second time.

After previously splitting in July 2024, the duo reconciled. However, as reported by TMZ, the couple went their separate ways again around Valentine's Day. 

While the reason for their breakup is still unknown, sources close to the pop star said that their breakup is permanent this time.

Spears was first romantically linked to Soliz in 2023.
