LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears is celebrating the end of her nearly $1 million annual child support payments to ex-husband Kevin Federline, but sources close to the star fear she may be burning through her fortune too quickly, as reported by Radar Online.

Spears, 42, had been paying Federline $40,000 per month for each of their sons, Sean and Jayden, since 2008, following her widely publicized personal struggles. With Sean now 18 and Jayden turning 18 in November, the pop icon is set to make her final payment this fall.

While Spears is relieved to be finished with these payments, sources suggest she remains concerned about how Federline spent the money.

A source shared, "It's a happy time for Britney since she always resented paying all that money and wondering what Kevin was really doing with it. As far as she's concerned, she's washed Kevin out of her hair for good now."

Despite being free from financial obligations to Federline, friends of the 'Toxic' singer are increasingly concerned about her extravagant lifestyle. Since her conservatorship ended in 2021, which granted her full control over her finances, Spears has been splurging on exotic vacations and indulging in lavish purchases.

“Britney hasn’t released an album in eight years or performed a concert in six, so the money is going out, but it’s not coming in,” the source explained, adding that the singer has been known to spend upwards of a million dollars on a single vacation.

"She thinks nothing of spending a million bucks on an exotic vacation and indulges her every whim now that she is free to do so."

Britney Spears recalls harrowing fireplace incident that left her with singed hair

Britney Spears opened up about a frightening incident from six months ago that left her with singed eyebrows and eyelashes after a mishap with her bedroom fireplace. In a candid Instagram post, the 42-year-old pop star detailed how a seemingly routine task turned into a dangerous situation.

Recalling the event, Spears described how she attempted to ignite the fireplace herself, saying, “Six months ago something happened that was really, really dangerous. I was in my room and I turned the fire on, and all of a sudden it blew up in my face.”

"I just threw the whole thing in there, and it literally blew into my face and took all my eyelashes off, my eyebrows. And see this baby hair? These baby bangs? This is from basically six months ago," she explained, adopting a playful British accent for her followers.

"But then it hurt to even touch my phone. It hurt to put ice on my face. It hurt anything to just touch it. So this lasted for like six or seven hours. It happened at like three o' clock in the morning. The pain never went away. It was so, so, so bad," Spears went on.

Spears connected this incident to her past fire-related accident in 2020 when she accidentally burned down her home gym while using candles.
