SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears is back in the arms of Paul Soliz, just months after their headline-making split, Daily Mail reports.

The pop icon, 43, was spotted this week at Lily Pad Playground in San Fernando Valley with Soliz, 37, and two of his children - an outing that reignites their on-again, off-again romance.

Britney Spears and Paul Soliz reunite

Britney Spears’ relationship with Soliz has been a rollercoaster, punctuated by breakups, reconciliations, and plenty of raised eyebrows.

Last year, their romance crumbled when Spears reportedly saw through Soliz’s apparent intentions.

A source told TMZ in July 2024, “Britney and Paul split around three weeks ago. And they were done once the singer realized her former maintenance worker-turned-boyfriend was only using her for the luxurious lifestyle.”

The Mercedes G-Wagon Britney was photographed in during the playground outing was the very same car she gifted Soliz after just a month of dating.

But if this was meant to be a discreet reunion, Spears wasn’t exactly playing the doting stepmom. While keeping a low profile, she made it clear to others at the venue, “These aren’t my kids.”

Paul Soliz accused of being a ‘deadbeat dad’ with an unraveling past

Paul Soliz's track record isn’t exactly sparkling.

His ex-wife Nicole Mancilla, who filed for divorce in October 2024 after eight years of marriage, didn’t hold back on her assessment of him.

“Just let them know that my husband fell in Britney Spears’ p****,” she bluntly told Daily Mail, alleging he abandoned his nine children for the singer.

She also dubbed him “the EBT Nick Cannon.”

Reportedly, Mancilla and the Los Angeles Department for Child Support Services (DCSS) are currently chasing Soliz for unpaid child support.

Her mother, Sandra Smith, also chimed in, labeling him a “deadbeat dad” who “doesn’t support any” of his children.

And it seems Britney saw those red flags - at least for a while.

After their initial split, she removed Soliz from the entry list to her home, with a source explaining, “She chose her children and her well-being over Paul. They did not get along and, in fact, he did not treat her how she deserves to be treated.”

"He was nothing but a rebound and she recognizes this. But she has contact with her children again and this is what is most important to her."

The source added, "This has made her feel whole again and she realized that in their absence she was seeking something or someone to fill the void but no one can."

"She also saw how Paul was a deadbeat dad and this was a major turnoff for her. But, before anything, she knew that staying with him would only lead her down a dark path. His history speaks for itself."

Toxic patterns in Spears and Soliz's relationship

For Spears, the pattern of chaos isn’t new. In May 2024, her relationship with Soliz reached a dramatic low when she was photographed barefoot outside the Chateau Marmont following an alleged fight.

Emergency services were involved, and concern for her well-being spiked.

Sources close to Britney remain skeptical of Soliz’s motives as one insider noted, “They don’t think he’s a good fit for her.”

Another added, “They have tried for months to tell her to stop associating with him, but the more they tell her to stay away, it has the reverse effect. She isn’t listening to them.”

While Spears cycles through romance turbulence, her ex-husband Sam Asghari is steering clear of the drama.

After their 2023 split, the former couple finalized their divorce settlement in May 2024.  Asghari has since moved on with Brooke Irvine and seems to have no regrets.

Reflecting on the end of their marriage during a recent Sibling Rivalry podcast interview, Asghari stated, “Divorce and break-ups suck for anybody but I always had the mindset of ‘I’m not sad it’s over.’ I’m grateful and happy that it happened.”

Regarding Spears’ highly publicized conservatorship battle, which ended in 2021, he shared, “That was the most difficult and weird spiral thing that I’ve witnessed in my life.” Still, he emphasized his support: “I provided as much as I could.”
