LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pop star Britney Spears will be paying ex-husband Kevin Federline child support for the last time on Friday, November 15, after their youngest child Jayden James turned 18 in September, reported Page Six.

How much did Britney Spears pay for child support?

According to the Daily Mail, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline had agreed to her paying him $20,000 per month and sharing joint custody of the children. It doubled to $40,000 in 2018 when the boys started to only stay with their father.

After Sean turned 18 last year, the exes agreed to reduce the amount to $20,000 a month. At present, she has been making biweekly payments of $10,000, with the final sum to be paid on the upcoming Friday.

Why did Britney Spears continue to pay child support for Jayden after he turned 18?

Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin Federline's longtime attorney, explained to People in September the legal reason why the singer had to continue paying for child support after her youngest child, Jayden, turned 18.

"Under California law, child support jurisdiction continues until the minor child reaches the age of 18, or if upon their 18th birthday, they have not yet graduated high school, it continues until they graduate high school, but in no event later than their 19th birthday," he stated.

"The child support in this case for Jayden is being paid consistent with that law. His graduation from high school will be in November."

"They have been spending a lot of time together,” said a source, while another stated that the boy was "back in California" where his mother lived.

Jayden has been staying with his father and brother on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, with Federline's third wife, Victoria Prince, and his four other children.

“Britney is thrilled to have her baby back. Everything is moving in the right direction,” shared another source.
