Brittany Cartwright mocks ex Jax Taylor’s divorce filing errors, says ‘paperwork is hard for some people’
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Brittany Cartwright recently called out her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, for making several errors in his response to her divorce filing. Taylor had submitted his statement without taking the help of legal advisors.
The 45-year-old reality star submitted a handwritten document that, as reported by People, contained inaccuracies, including the claim that they were not "legally married" and an incorrect timeline of their relationship.
Brittany Cartwright clarifies separation date confusion amid Jax Taylor’s filing errors
While Brittany Cartwright listed their separation date as January 24, 2024, a month before they announced the news publicly, Taylor claimed they didn’t officially part ways until September 26, 2024.
Adding to the confusion, he also mistakenly checked a box under “other” when it came to child support arrangements for their son, Cruz.
After fans noticed the discrepancies and took to social media to express their confusion, Cartwright decided to address the issue publicly.

Under one of E! News’ Instagram posts, she commented, "We are legally married. I’m guessing paperwork is hard for some people."
Even Lance Bass, who officiated their 2019 wedding, weighed in, confirming their marriage was legally binding by writing, "Pastor Lance signed the papers."
Taylor’s representative later issued a statement to People, ensuring that the errors made by Taylor would be corrected promptly.

“Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz, and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern,” his rep stated.
“While Jax made errors in filing out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, those errors will be amended without delay.”
Cartwright, 35, filed for divorce in August after five years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences in her legal documents.
In her filing, she requested primary legal and physical custody of Cruz, while allowing visitation for Taylor. Additionally, she sought to prevent the court from awarding either of them spousal support.
According to People, the ex-couple tied the knot on June 29 in Kentucky after a year-long engagement.
"I think that's the sweetest part of a wedding, whenever the groom sees the bride for the first time, to just watch their reaction and stuff," Cartwright, 30, told People back then, shortly before their big day.
"That's the thing I'm most excited for is to see him for the first time on the wedding day."
However, a lot has changed since then.
