LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: An old tweet from Brittany Mahomes has resurfaced amid the criticism she's already facing for liking Donald Trump's post.

On Friday, August 23, Patrick Mahomes' wife faced significant criticism from fans after liking a post by former President Donald Trump on Instagram.

Eagle-eyed users spotted the expectant mother-of-three engaging with a post that highlighted 16 of Donald Trump's policies as he campaigns for another term in the White House.

The resurfaced tweet shows Brittany Mahomes' displeasure with Donald Trump during his presidency, which coincided with athletes' protests against racial injustice by kneeling during the national anthem, as reported by Daily Mail.

"Trump, you have now offended waaaay too many people," she wrote on September 24, 2017. [sic]



 

Although the specifics of her tweet are unclear, Trump criticized players who kneeled during the national anthem, claiming it led to a decline in NFL ratings.

"Sports fans should never condone players that do not stand proud for their National Anthem or their Country," Trump wrote at the time. "NFL should change policy!"



 

"If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country you will see change take place fast," he wrote in another post. "Fire or suspend!"



 

He added in a series of Tweets, "Great solidarity for our National Anthem and for our Country. Standing with locked arms is good kneeling is not acceptable. Bad ratings!"



 

Brittany Mahomes fires back at critics

Nevertheless, her decision to like Donald Trump's post after seven years sparked outrage, with many fans suggesting that Mahomes might have jeopardized her friendship with Taylor Swift.

Unperturbed, Mahomes took to Instagram to deliver a fiery rebuttal to her critics.

"I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood," she wrote.

She further added, "There's no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well."

Internet supports Brittany Mahomes

Once the news appeared in the Daily Mail, reactions began to emerge supporting Brittany Mahomes. A user wrote, "Omg what happened to being a free country? To try to shame someone for liking a post is depravity and scary as hello." [sic]

Another added, "Leave her alone!!!! I hope she shuts down her social media accounts She is pregnant, no need for the garbage." [sic]

The third commentator remarked, "She can like whomever she likes. This is still America."
