The singer explained, "To me, personally, the rudest celebrity I’ve ever encountered was Candace Cameron. She wasn’t kind when I met her. That doesn’t mean she’s an awful person, just that she was the rudest I’ve met. I quickly shared it, thinking no one would notice."

She later regretted the move, noting that at the time they had "no real beef," and that Bure had simply been unkind to her as a child. Siwa acknowledged she had intended to criticize a company that had wronged her, not to stir up drama with the actress, especially since they had mutual friends.

"I wanted to support my people but didn’t want to create unnecessary drama. Candace and I have since talked about it, and she was actually quite nice. We addressed it publicly, and anyone who pits us against each other is being unreasonable," shared Siwa.

JoJo Siwa points out her problem with Candace Cameron Bure's 'traditional marriage' remark

JoJo Siwa later called out Candace Cameron Bure after the 'Full House' actress said she wanted to "keep traditional marriage at the core" with the Great American Family channel in a November 2022 interview with The Wall Street Journal.

At the time, the singer took to Instagram and wrote, "Honestly, I can't believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people."

On her podcast, Siwa expressed that she felt Bure was "saying that traditional American marriage is not LGBTQ marriage" and that she "didn't want to publicize" gay marriage.

The 'Karma' singer expressed, "Whether she meant to do that or not, she still did it, and it still stung the community. Of course, you know, we're doing all this work to be more visible and out there for kids in the next generation to feel more normal."

After the interview with The Wall Street Journal, Bure addressed her comments on Instagram and in a statement to People. She expressed love for everyone and said she did not intend to offend anyone, mentioning that she supports contributions from all people, regardless of ethnicity or identity.
