LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A recent viral video of political commentator Candace Owens inviting rapper Nicki Minaj for an interview has sparked intense debate across social media.

The clip, reshared by an X user (@Q4quise) on November 10, 2024, has quickly gained traction, with many fans and critics weighing in on whether the two women should have a public conversation.

Candace Owens extends open invitation to Nicki Minaj for an interview

In the video, Candace Owens, known for her conservative views, appears to be reading through some social media comments when one suggestion stands out: offering her platform to Nicki Minaj.

Owens responds enthusiastically, saying, "I would love to talk to Nicki Minaj. Nicki, if you're watching this, come on to the show. Let's talk about everything... I have a bias when it comes to Caribbean because my family is part Caribbean... So, Nicki Minaj, I'm biased in your favor."

She further extended the invitation, expressing a desire to cover a wide range of topics, from Hollywood to politics. "Come on, let's talk about everything," Owens continued, making it clear she was eager to have Minaj as a guest.

Candace Owens' interview invite sparks mixed reactions

However, the video has sparked a mixed response. Many users on X (formerly Twitter) reacted strongly, some skeptical of the idea, while others were excited at the prospect of a conversation between the two powerful women.

One user expressed doubt about Minaj agreeing to the interview, "I doubt that Nicki would do this, but if she did, it would be a master class in shade. They’re both very intelligent women lol"

However, not all reactions were supportive. Many users criticized Owens and questioned the benefits of such an interview for Nicki Minaj. One user tweeted, "I really don’t want Nicki speaking to this woman… naaa, she smells bad news."

Another added, "All she wants to do is make Cardi B digs, corny. Bye Candace."

Others questioned how the interview would benefit Minaj, with one netizen claiming, "I see the benefit for Candace, but how is this going to help Nicki? This will do nothing positive for Nicki. The only thing it will do is create more drama and more haters."

On the flip side, some fans expressed curiosity and excitement about the possibility of a conversation between Owens and Minaj. "Ngl I’d be here for this," one user tweeted.

While another added, "I want this so bad!! Please @NICKIMINAJ."

Others were more specific about their preferences, saying they would enjoy the conversation, "I would love this as long as she holds the political stuff!"

As Nicki Minaj faced backlash for her political opinions, Candace Owens weighed in, criticizing the Democrats' treatment of celebrities like the rapper.

In a fiery statement, Owens said, "These are the people, by the way, that when they’re running, they go around and get [celebrities] to endorse them. They try to get them to speak on behalf of them and Nicki Minaj is not playing that game."

She went on to argue that the Democratic Party views celebrities, particularly rappers, as "stupid" and easily manipulated for votes. "At the end of the day, what they actually think – the Democrats – is that these people are stupid. They like to come around every four years for the votes but at the end of the day, they think Nicki Minaj and all rappers are very stupid. And Nicki Minaj, right now, is proving them otherwise. She’s not afraid," Owens concluded, highlighting Minaj's refusal to conform to the typical political playbook.
