LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former president Donald Trump emphasised the existence of bad blood between him and pop icon Taylor Swift, but the response might not be what he expected.

The GOP presidential nominee had a meltdown on his Truth Social platform, stating his despise for the 'Shake It Off' singer.

In all caps on September 15, Trump declared, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"

However, the 45th president's statement gave way to a viral trend, "I love Taylor Swift," and many celebrities joined to hit back at the Republican for his hate towards the singer, as per The Independent.

Trump's post came days after Swift announced her endorsement of his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Donald Trump's "hate" towards Taylor Swift prompted several celebrities to come out in support and express their "love" towards her.

Rapper Flavor Flav of Public Enemy hit back at Trump, writing on X (formerly Twitter), "I LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT,!!"

'The Shining, author Stephen King voiced his support for Swift, stating, "I love Taylor Swift. Her music makes me happy. End of story."

'Only Murders in the Building' actor Steve Martin also joined the trend, wondering "How can anyone hate Taylor Swift?"

Other actors, including Bradley Whitford, Mark Hamill, Billy Baldwin and Mia Farrow, also posted the "#ILoveTaylorSwift" hashtag on X.

The dislike between Swift and Trump is no old story, and the latest endorsement added fuel to the fire.

Soon after his below-average performance at the ABC News debate against Vice President Harris on September 10, the 'Anti-Hero' singer made clear her voting plans for November through an Instagram post.

Urging her followers to research the candidates and their proposed policies, she revealed her plans to vote for the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz ticket, praising them for their leadership qualities and stances on LGBTQ rights, IVF and reproductive rights.

Swift also noted the use of a fake AI image of her that implied she supported Trump prompted her to clarify her position. She also called on first-time voters to register and vote early.

Taking a swipe at Trump's running mate, JD Vance, who insulted childless Democratic women in 2021, the pop sensation concluded her message as "Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady."
