Celine Dion gets soaked with Gatorade during 'Sunday Night Football' appearance amid struggle with SPS
DALLAS, TEXAS: Singer Celine Dion made a surprise visit on NBC and Peacock's 'Sunday Night Football' over the weekend where the singing sensation was showered with buckets of the energy drink Gatorade.
The 'My Heart Will Go On' star, who has been gradually recovering from her Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) diagnosis, made an appearance in a pre-game film that opened the Dallas Cowboys vs Pittsburgh Steelers game on Sunday, October 6, per The Independent.
Celine Dion gets drenched with Gatorade during surprise 'Sunday Night Football' appearance
Celine Dion, 56, shocked fans of the NFL by making an appearance in a pre-recorded video that aired before 'Sunday Night Football' on NBC. However, the moment when two crew members doused the 'My Heart Will Go On' singer in Gatorade absolutely stunned the audience.
In the opening video, uploaded to NBC's social media account by NFL after it aired on Sunday night, Dion was seen talking into the camera while sporting a Super Bowl jersey honoring the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers rivalry.
Wearing a Super Bowl XXX sweatshirt, Dion remarked about her "passion" for the rivalry between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys with a reference to her song 'It's All Coming Back to Me Now'.

Dion added, "Like tonight, evoking the kind of magic they once produced. The Cowboys and the Steelers, a timeless classic on Sunday Night."
She then allowed the producers of the video to assist her in recreating the iconic moment when the teams' coaches get drenched in the sports drink and let the players spill Gatorade over her head.
Being one incredible sport, Dion appears to be smiling and even pumping her fist in the air, demonstrating her sense of humor and love for the game, while being completely drenched and evidently surprised by the drink's freezing temperature.
Celine Dion makes surprise NFL appearance amid stiff person syndrome diagnosis
Celine Dion made an unexpected sporting cameo three months after her performance in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The Canadian singer sang Edith Piaf's 'L'Hymne a l'amour' live from the Eiffel Tower, on July 26, leaving the audience in tears.
It marked Dion’s first concert since 2022 when she was forced to pull out of her world tour after being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome. SPS is a rare and incurable condition that causes rigidity in the trunk and limbs, accompanied by excruciating muscular spasms.
Dion posted an emotional video to Instagram in December 2022 and said: "Hello, everyone. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to reach out to you."
"I miss you all so much and I can’t wait to be on stage talking to you in person. As you know, I’ve always been an open book and I wasn’t ready to say anything before, but I’m ready now."
"I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through," per Us Weekly.
