SAO PAULO, BRAZIL: Charli XCX has been attempting to stop the "toxic behavior" aimed at Taylor Swift that has been exhibited at several of Charli's recent shows.

The 'Von dutch' singer took to social media on Sunday, June 23, to address her fans when it appeared that she had captured people yelling "Taylor is dead" during her gigs in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Charli XCX 'will not tolerate' people chanting derogatory remarks about Taylor Swift

The 31-year-old singer-songwriter has been touring the globe for the past month, playing music from her recently released album, 'Brat.'

However, Charli XCX had to pause a recent show to discipline some attendees for allegedly yelling offensive remarks against Swift.

On June 23, one X (formerly Twitter) user tagged the 'Von Dutch' artist in a post that included recordings of partygoers at an album release party in Sao Paulo, Brazil, who appeared to be chanting "A Taylor Morreu," which the user translated as meaning "Taylor is dead."

The individual on social media said that Charli XCX fans "have been showing toxic behavior." The tweet read, "Could you do something about it? We don’t (believe) that’s what music should be about."

The tweet also included a mention of Swift's official fan page, Taylor Nation.

Charli XCX responded to the post on her Instagram story in a matter of hours. She declared that she would not "tolerate" the behavior in question.

The 'Official' singer shared a screenshot of people allegedly chanting on her Instagram stories, along with the caption, "Can the people who do this please stop. Online or at my shows."

She further stated, "It is the opposite of what I want and it disturbs me that anyone would think there is room for this in this community. I will not tolerate it," per HuffPost.

Although Charli XCX was Swift's notable 2018 opening act, some fans have theorized that 'Sympathy is a knife,' one of the songs on 'Brat,' is about the 'Fortnight' singer.

Furthermore, Charli XCX outraged Swifties with remarks she made in a 2019 interview with Pitchfork following the tour.

"I’m really grateful that (Taylor) asked me on that tour. But as an artist, it kind of felt like I was getting up onstage and waving to 5-year-olds," Charli XCX said at the time.

The singer later made an effort to expand on her remarks and provide additional context in a follow-up tweet that she shared on Twitter.

Charli XCX calling out fans earned 'big respect' from online users

Social media users took to X to praise the 'Brat' artist as one exclaimed, "Big respect for her i wish Taylor would do the same and stop the swifties from time to time.."

"I mean her fans shoved poppers up her nose without her consent what do you expect from them they weird," remarked another.

Another noted, "The fact that she has to call out her own embarassing fans says a lot about the fanbase"

"Charli is doing the right thing so what will the haters say?" asked one.

Another noted, "Charli XCX's stance on promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere at her shows is commendable. It's essential for fans to uphold similar values of respect and support within the community."

"It's disappointing to see such behavior at shows. Respect and positivity should always be the vibe," chimed in one.

Another exclaimed, "I so respect Charli XCX. I’m a lifelong swiftie and a Charlie XCX fan."
