Cher keen on being ‘fun fairy godmother’ to BF Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards’ five-year-old son Slash: Source
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher is interested in playing the role of a “fun fairy godmother” to the five-year-old son of her boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards.
According to reports, the ‘Little Man’ singer is not just keen on playing the role of a stepmother to Edwards’ only son, Slash, but also wants to have a good time with the child and spoil him for good.
A source shared that the ‘Mamma Mia!’ actress has always wanted to be a grandmother, but her two sons - Elijah Blue Allman, 48, and Chaz Bono, 55 - have yet to embrace parenthood. Thus, Cher is "jumping at this chance to have a cute little kid in her life” when she spends time with Slash.
Cher is having the ‘best time’ with Slash
According to reports, the ‘Dark Lady’ singer has developed quite a strong bond with Edwards’ son, whom he welcomed with his ex Amber Rose.
However, Cher has made it clear from the beginning that she doesn’t want to usurp any parent’s place through her affection.
"Cher isn’t trying to play stepmom to Slash,” shared the source while speaking to In Touch Weekly, before adding, “She’s very clear that she’s not interested in that role, she’s more interested in being like a fun fairy godmother.”
"His wish is basically her command. She’s having the best time with him,” gushed the source while referencing her bond with Slash.
The source shared that Slash has come to Cher’s life as a boon, as she has "always wanted grandkids", but her children, Chaz and Elijah have not yet welcomed any child. Thus, she is "jumping at this chance to have a cute little kid in her life",

"The best part is they just do fun things together," shared the tipster, before adding, "She lets AE and Amber handle all the discipline and the hard stuff. Not that there’s a whole lot of that needed because he’s a really sweet little guy."
They added, "Cher loves making him laugh and will play with him for hours. He’s totally giving her a chance to see the world through a kid’s eyes again and she’s loving it.”
She was "really excited about Christmas this year because she can go all out with the presents and all the fun holiday traditions,” added the source, before highlighting, "She’s even got a Santa suit for AE to dress up in. She’s having a ball."
Cher looking to become a mother again via adoption
The news of Cher's special bonding with Slash came at the heels of a rumor that the songstress is looking forward to embrace motherhood again in her 70s.
However, the ‘Strong Enough’ singer mourns that she previously missed freezing her egg. Thus, at this point, the only option she is left with is adoption, shared the source.
Speaking to In Touch Weekly, the source shared previously, "She's telling AE it’s her dream in life to have another baby. She missed the boat on freezing eggs and hiring a surrogate, but adoption is something she very much would like to do.”
While Cher’s desire to welcome a child might come as a surprise to many, the insider spills that the Oscar-winning star’s strained relationship with her two sons is one of the steering factors in her desire to become a mother again.
The ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ singer has a long history of contentious legal battles with one of her biological sons, Elijah Allman, over conservatorship, and Cher’s relationship with her other son, Chaz Bono, is also facing rough waters.
But Cher is reportedly trying to bury the hatchet with her sons. Some of her close friends are speculating that this stemmed from the ‘After All’ hitmaker’s fears of facing the end alone. In the past, it was also reported that Cher was having problems with her boyfriend.
The source continued, “Cher says she’s doing this because she misses them, but everyone suspects she wants to make peace because she’s worried her relationship with AE won’t last, and she doesn’t want to face the end of her life totally alone.”
“Cher now has a chance to make peace with her sons,” added the insider, before concluding on a somber note, “But she’s not out of the woods with them yet!"
