KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid defended pop star Taylor Swift after she got booed at the last Super Bowl game played by the team that has her boyfriend Travis Kelce as the star tight end, the Irish Star reported on Wednesday, February 26.

Since getting together in 2023, Swift and Kelce have been supportive of each other's career, with her becoming a regular at the Arrowhead Stadium and attending back-to-back Superbowls, and him showing up at her concerts.

However, the 'Anti Hero' singer received mixed reactions from the crowd when she attended Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 10. Some NFL fans booed when Swift showed up on the big screens from her spot at the VIP box. The Chiefs lost the game to the Philadelphia Eagles that day 40-22.

Andy Reid remains supportive of Taylor Swift

While Taylor Swift was apparently uncomfortable with the reaction of fans at the Super Bowl, coach Andy Reid backed her up and complimented her for how well she handles public scrutiny, during an interview with Mike Florio and Chris Simms at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, February 25.

“She’s a good girl,” Reid said of the singer, as per US Weekly. "But she handles that whole thing the right way. That’s a tough deal. She does a great job with handling it. Kelce does a great job of handling it. She’s part of the team. Like the other girlfriends and wives, they’re a part of it."

Reid has long been supportive of the relationship between Swift and Kelce, stating back in 2023, "I’m glad he’s (Kelce) found somebody he likes and she’s found somebody she likes. That’s a good thing." He even asserted that Swift has not been a "distraction" for Kelce from his training, saying, "She’s a good girl and she loves the game and obviously loves Kelce, so I’m happy for both of them."

Trolls continue to target Taylor Swift online

Andy Reid's support of Taylor Swift and her relationship with Travis Kelce triggered trolls on social media platform X to deride him. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"Who cares?" wrote a user.

"What a baby," shared another.

"She doesn't need it," expressed one user.

"Bet she's happy with the free publicity," jibed someone else.

"A good girl?? Is she a puppy that needs to be patted on the head???" mocked another.

A user "booed" again through a gif.
