In an interview with The Los Angeles Times published on Friday, February 21, the actress and singer highlighted Swift’s journey, calling her "exceptional" and emphasizing her "icon status."

Sharing her thoughts on Taylor Swift's incredible resilience, Kate Hudson said, "Taylor’s done something so amazing, which is that she’s never wavered from her conviction. No matter what everyone’s laid on her, she’s just continued to strive forward. And she really is an exceptional writer. Her icon status is so deserved."

The 'Bride Wars' actress' admiration for Swift goes beyond just her music, as she also revealed that her six-year-old daughter, Rani Rose, is a "hardcore" Swiftie.

Hudson shared a sweet moment from their experience at the pop star's Eras tour, saying, "We went to the Eras tour. She tried so hard to stay up but halfway through she was in my arms. It was late."

The 45-year-old couldn't limit herself to one Eras tour show. "I saw the show a few times, including the finale in Vancouver," she shared, as per Parade. 

But it’s not just Hudson and her daughter who are devoted Swift fans. "My sister-in-law was there. She’s such a Swiftie that it’s almost uncomfortable [laughs]," Hudson said.

Kate Hudson previously praised Taylor Swift during her appearance on SiriusXM’s 'The Pulse' for its ongoing Guest DJ Campaign.

In the LA Times interview, she also discussed Swift and former One Direction member Zayn Malik's 2017 collaboration, 'I Don’t Wanna Live Forever'.

Hudson singled out the song's production by Jack Antonoff, noting, "There’s something about the production of that song — the way he plays with pulling it back. I listen to music like a dancer, so it’s how my body responds to it."

As someone who released her debut studio album 'Glorious' in 2024, Hudson knows a thing or two about the music industry. She’s also no stranger to the rock world, with her breakout role as Penny Lane in 'Almost Famous' and her connections to famous musicians.

Her father, Bill Hudson, was part of the 1970s pop trio the Hudson Brothers, and she’s had high-profile relationships with musicians Chris Robinson and Matt Bellamy, both of whom share children with Hudson.
