Chiefs coach Andy Reid jokes about Travis Kelce being 'waterboy' for Taylor Swift at Eras Tour
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: During a recent episode of The Athletic's podcast 'Scoop City,' hosted by NFL insider Diana Russini and former quarterback Chase Daniel, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid offered his insights on the tight end's relationship with the pop icon.
The 66-year-old noted, “When he goes to her concerts, she’s a star,” adding, “And he can be hanging out there and be the support or the waterboy, so he can do that,” per People.

Addressing Kelce's growing fame since becoming the boyfriend of the 'Cruel Summer' singer, Reid remarked, "He can handle it."
"I think there’s a great escape for him," he said, referring to the football player, who went public with Swift in September 2023.

Reid also suggested that the 34-year-old pop star experiences a similar sense of escape when she attends NFL games to support Kelce.
“I said that about Taylor, too,” Reid stated, adding, “I mean, she comes to the game, she can kind of escape having to be the show.”

Reid highlighted Kelce's growing fame, crediting it in part to his highly entertaining 'New Heights' podcast, co-hosted with his brother, Jason Kelce.
"He’s an outgoing guy," Reid continued. "I mean, he comes into a room and he’s going to light the room up. Everybody’s his best friend. Until you prove him wrong, everybody’s a friend."
“As long as they’re ready to go. Training camp is kind of that proving ground. If you’re not ready to go, it’s going to be obvious quickly,” he then remarked on Travis Kelce's ability to stay focused, despite his growing fame.

Donning a tuxedo and top hat, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made his appearance during Swift's 'I Can Do It With a Broken Heart' outfit change, a new addition to her tour inspired by 'The Tortured Poets Department' album.
As per People, he attended the first two nights of the stop as well, initially appearing at the June 21 show with his brother Jason Kelce, sister-in-law Kylie Kelce, and other VIPs.
By the next morning, the internet was abuzz with a viral selfie of Kelce and Swift (their first together!), alongside Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte.
