KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: In a powerful display of unity, several Kansas City Chiefs players donned custom-made Travis Kelce T-shirts before their Sunday game against the Los Angeles Chargers, as per The Daily Beast.

The gesture was an emphatic show of support for their star tight end, who has been facing mounting criticism following a slow start to the 2024 NFL season.

As Kelce’s struggles continue to fuel public discourse, his teammates have rallied around him, proving that their bond extends far beyond the field.

Kansas City wide receiver Rashee Rice and several teammates were seen wearing custom Travis Kelce T-shirts while warming up at SoFi Stadium before their game against the Chargers.

Rice, who has openly regarded Kelce as a mentor and leader within the team, provided the shirts for all the Chiefs’ wide receivers as a symbol of their support.

In an interview with CBS Sports, Rice said, "We all look up to Travis, and we wanted to show him that no matter what’s being said out there, we’ve got his back."

The team’s public gesture comes at a time when Kelce has been under scrutiny for his performance during the start of the 2024 season.

The once-dominant tight end, who is widely considered one of the greatest to ever play the position, has struggled to find his rhythm this year.

This is not the first time the Chiefs have used warm-up apparel to demonstrate solidarity.

Just last week, fellow Chiefs players Skyy Moore, Xavier Worthy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Mecole Hardman wore shirts in honor of running back Isiah Pacheco, who suffered a fibula injury during Week 2 against Cincinnati.

Despite a slow start to the season, Kelce’s performance during Sunday’s game offered a glimmer of hope.

Going into the matchup, Kelce had only managed to record 69 receiving yards and eight catches without a touchdown.

However, against the Chargers, he secured seven receptions for 89 yards, effectively eclipsing his previous season stats in just one game.

The Chiefs ultimately claimed a 17-10 victory, but the win was bittersweet as Rice was carted off the field after a collision with quarterback Patrick Mahomes while attempting to recover a fumble.

Sources later informed ESPN that Rice may have torn his ACL, a season-ending injury that would deliver a significant blow to the Chiefs’ offense.
