Chris Cuomo tells Tucker Carlson ‘you were right’ about media as former rivals bond over their firings

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former rival television news anchors Chris Cuomo and Tucker Carlson bonded over getting fired from their respective networks on the March 10 episode of the latter's podcast, as per The Wrap.
Cuomo was the first to get fired in December 2021 from CNN after reports surfaced that he helped his brother, former Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, defend himself against allegations of harassment.
Carlson, who had called CNN's treatment of Cuomo "weird hypocrisy" at the time, was himself fired by Fox News in April 2023 over toxic behavior in the workplace.

Chris Cuomo acknowledges Tucker Carlson was right about mainstream media
During his appearance on 'The Tucker Carlson Show', Chris Cuomo graciously noted that Carlson was right about media being an "ugly" business and offering words of advice when he found himself out of a job in 2021.
“It gives me no particular joy to say this, but you were right about it,” said Cuomo, quickly adding, "Don’t get used to it. It’s the last time you’ll hear it in this conversation.”

After being dismissed from CNN, Cuomo recalled Carlson telling him, "Give it time, embrace doing what you’re doing, and don’t look for the acceptance of where you were,” which he now considers to be "really good advice".
“So from a year ago until today, I now know that. And there is something comforting about that. It’s an ugly business, it’s an ugly time," he noted.
“It’s been almost two years for me since I haven’t worked in the media," replied Carlson. "And it’s weird when you do work there for your whole life, you just accept that everyone lies all the time and it’s totally treacherous and people who claim to be your friends actually hate you and every dispute is settled with a lawyer… you just accept that’s the way things work, but that’s not how things work outside the media," he added.

Chris Cuomo's criticism of mainstream media culture
Chris Cuomo insisted that media thrives in an air of negativity, saying, "It’s okay for me to destroy you by a standard that I would never want imposed on me. If I were to cover you in any situation and put a positive spin on it, that’s a puff piece.”
He joked about the criticism he received from pundits, who said, "Cuomo’s been red-pilled. He got bought up by that preppy, smiley chucklehead."
"And if I then say, well, I sat down with Tucker and as I knew it, he’s the devil’s spawn, (they’d say) 'Ooh, that was a hard-hitting piece. He really came at him,'" Cuomo observed, concluding, "The commodity is negativity. If you want to be a hard journalist, you better say something negative about somebody. It’s a proxy for insight.”

He went on to state that his current position at NewsNation has been "a blessing" for him and applauded their "acceptance" of both him and his brother.

Chris Cuomo is a con artist who is desperately trying to stay relevant. I will listen to this interview, but that won't make me forget how he was during covid. If CNN hadn't fired him, he would still be that way.

"Astonishing how this Chris dude gets podcast gigs to continue his gaslighting career. He admitted to shaming Americans into the jab, wearing masks and he is proud of the job he did and he would apologize for being wrong because he got paid. He said this on the PBD podcast," shared another.
