LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Hemsworth’s playful Christmas spirit has stirred up mixed reactions online after he shared a video showcasing his family’s Elf on the Shelf antics.

Elf on the Shelf is a holiday tradition where a mischievous elf plays hide-and-seek around the house everyday in the lead-up to Christmas, often making a mess.

The video, shared by Hemsworth shows three mischievous elves wreaking havoc in the bathroom. One elf is lying in the sink covered in flour, another is perched on the counter surrounded by unraveled toilet paper, and the third sits on the toilet with a bowl of Froot Loops strategically placed in the bowl, complete with a spoon.

“Merry Christmas, everyone,” Hemsworth said in the video, adding “Just want to say, keep your eyes peeled because the elves have done it again. Look at them. Cheeky little buggers—they’re everywhere. Stay sharp.”

While some followers praised the post as lighthearted holiday fun, others found it controversial.

Critics voiced concerns over the toilet-themed prank, with one commenter writing, “Really? Using the toilet for food? That’s a bit much.” Another added, “Not exactly the festive spirit I’d go for.”

Another wrote, "Can u make another video of you flushing that toilet?"

"Really Chris? Kids literally starving and you are wasting what America calls food and it’s in the toilet?" a user wrote.

On the other hand, many fans defended Hemsworth’s creativity and sense of humor. “This is hilarious! The kids must have loved it,” one fan wrote. Another chimed in, “It’s just a bit of fun—lighten up, people!”

Meanwhile, Hemsworth appeared unfazed, embracing the fun and festive spirit of the season with his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children.
