LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Christina Applegate apologized to her followers on the social media platform X for cursing them during her meltdown over the 2024 election result on Wednesday, November 6, reported The Daily Wire.

Conservative GOP nominee Donald Trump became the president-elect in this cycle, defeating Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. The outcome of the election was disappointing for the 52-year-old 'Dead to Me' star, who was rooting for the latter.

Christina Applegate's outburst on X after Donald Trump's election win

Taking to X early on Wednesday, Christina Applegate vented, "Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights. Against disability rights. Yeah that. Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done. Also after today I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years because this is sick."

The post went viral, and the thread heated up as Applegate rudely responded to followers who reacted to her tweet but did not subscribe to her political views.

When a person wrote, "I genuinely have no idea who you are, but Harris has no one to blame for her loss but herself. You’re just whining. Get over it. -A disabled person," the actress hit back, "Oh I’m whining??? Really. If you don’t know who I am yet you follow me then f**k off. I am disabled. Everyday of my life is hard."

Things went further south as another netizen crossed the line saying, "The problem is women can't think straight one week out of the month and that's not good for a president and the American people know that."

"Are you f**king kidding me? Get on the phone now. Give me your number!!!" lashed out Applegate. "I will ruin you. Don’t f**k with a disabled woman who also, you a**f**k oxygen thief probably trumper piece of s**t, will have. Better life than you sitting in your mamas basement. Don’t even try me."

Christina Applegate apologizes for being rude but ends up getting trolled online

Later in the day, Christina Applegate apologized for her rudeness online, tweeting, "I apologize. I’m still reeling and sobbing. But I’m not angry anymore. Just going to go back to my bubble and watch a s**t ton of Bravo shows. So peace to all. I suggest you do the same. Very soothing."

However, internet trolls were far from accepting and proceeded to mock the actress for her earlier outburst.

"Shut up, you emotional basket case. You just told half the country to unfollow you because they don’t see the world as you do. You celebrities are out of touch. Go buy a puppy or something," wrote a user.

"You sound like a spoiled angry out of touch child. How pathetic to see you treat people so poorly just because they disagree with you politically. Grow the hell up, woman up and try venturing outside of your left-wing Hollywood bubble," stated another.

"Meanwhile us peasants are counting the days til we can afford food again," mocked a third.

"How do you survive day to day being this fragile?" chided a fourth.

"It's that bubble you're crawling back into that distorted your sense of reality in the first place, why do you think most people outside of your privileged bubble voted differently?" shared another.

"These tears…oh so sweet and delicious," jibed yet another with a gif.
