NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: It seems CNN commentator Scott Jennings doesn't quite appreciate comedian Jimmy Kimmel's brand of humor.

On Thursday, March 20, Jennings accused the late-night host of basically rallying his left-leaning fans to vandalize Tesla cars. It came after Kimmel sarcastically joked about the backlash against Elon Musk and his electric vehicle empire.

Jennings took to X (formerly Twitter) to sound the alarm, claiming Kimmel’s monologue was anything but a joke. “The message from the American Left to conservatives is unmistakable: silence yourselves, or we will do it for you. This isn’t comedy — these are marching orders,” he declared.

Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue on Elon Musk and Tesla

While discussing Tesla’s tumbling stock price, Jimmy Kimmel casually told his audience on Tuesday night: “People have been vandalizing Tesla vehicles. New Tesla vehicle. Please don’t vandalize. Don’t ever vandalize Tesla vehicles.” He then took a long pause while the audience laughed.

Jennings, however, was not amused. The CNN pundit took this as a blatant call to arms and insisted Kimmel was egging people on to destroy Teslas, the New York Post reported.

During the same monologue, Kimmel took direct shots at Musk and dropped a biting joke about the billionaire’s famously unpredictable management tactics. “Our co-president Elon Musk sent a SpaceX vehicle to bring the astronauts back, and when they landed, he fired them immediately upon landing," he quipped.

The audience ate it up. But Kimmel wasn’t just cracking jokes, he also celebrated Tesla’s worsening financial troubles: “Tesla stock is way down, almost disastrously so.”

And then came Kimmel’s tongue-in-cheek “warning” to viewers not to vandalize Teslas.

The feud escalates

The next night, Jimmy Kimmel doubled down, responding to Elon Musk’s bewilderment over the hostility toward him and his company.

Musk had just gone on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show. “Tesla is a peaceful company. I’ve never done anything awful. I think we just have a deranged… there is some kind of mental illness thing going on here. It doesn’t make any sense," he lamented.

Kimmel, of course, had some thoughts on that. On Wednesday’s show, he threw some serious shade Musk’s way. “Well, let me see if I can explain it for you, when you pull out a chainsaw to celebrate firing thousands of people, they get mad," he snarked.

“This poor guy. You do one, maybe two Nazi salutes and everybody gets all bent out of shape," Kimmel added.

Musk responded to the jokes on X. "He’s such an unfunny jerk," he wrote.

Jimmy Kimmel vs Elon Musk

This isn’t the first time Jimmy Kimmel has gone after Elon Musk. Back in 2022, the late-night host ripped into the Tesla mogul, calling him a “piece of s**t” for allegedly spreading a conspiracy theory about the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi.

It all started when former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accused Republicans of pushing “hate and deranged conspiracy theories” that led to real-world violence.

“It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result. As citizens, we must hold them accountable for their words and the actions that follow,” she posted on X.

Musk fired back with a now-deleted tweet that suggested “there is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye,” while linking to a Santa Monica Observer article.

That article claimed Paul Pelosi “was drunk” when he was attacked.

Kimmel immediately snapped at Musk before he could erase the post. “It has been interesting, over the years, to watch you blossom from the electric car guy into a fully-formed piece of s**t," he fumed.
