NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: CNN's conservative analyst Scott Jennings slammed Democratic Rep Jasmine Crockett for what he called a "malicious smear" against conservative icon Charlie Kirk, whose memorial was held on Sunday, September 21.

Crockett said on Sunday that minority members of Congress mostly voted against a motion to honor Charlie Kirk, based on their opinion that he made racist statements against people of color.

Scott Jennings says Jasmine Crockett was lying as he defends Charlie Kirk

The Democratic Rep said to CNN's Dana Bash on Sunday, "When I saw the no votes, they were only two Caucasians. For the most part, the only people that voted no were people of color."

"Because the rhetoric that Charlie Kirk continuously put out there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color. And so it is unfortunate that even our colleagues could not see how harmful his rhetoric was, specifically to us," Jasmine Crockett added.

Meanwhile, Scott Jennings was asked to comment on Crockett's accusations, and he said, "Well, she's lying. I mean, Charlie Kirk targeted nobody."

"He was not racist in any way. I've listened to hours and hours and hours and hours of Charlie Kirk debates and talks, and have been with Charlie Kirk and did events with Charlie Kirk, and knew Charlie Kirk. There wasn't a racist bone in his body," Jennings added.

He further mentioned, "To say that he was continuously targeting people of color is nothing but a malicious smear on the very day that people are remembering Charlie and he's going to be laid to rest."

"I think we need to combine the no votes on the resolution, and then you look at the leading Democratic voices like Ilhan Omar and Jasmine Crockett who have gone out to smear Charlie before he's even had his funeral," CNN's conservative analyst said.

He then took a jab at Crockett and said, "When I hear people say we need to come together and both sides need to turn down the rhetoric, a lot of people saying that need to look inward right now. I was shocked at that — well, I guess I shouldn't say I was shocked by her, but I was a little stunned by it, by what happened this morning."

Jenning shared the video of his response on X and captioned it, "It’s a day of mourning for millions of Americans. For a hateful few - it’s a day for division, race baiting & slander of a man who did nothing but engage in good faith debate and civil discourse. Choose wisely, America."

Scott Jennings slams CNN's panelist for downplaying Tyler Robinson’s motive

Scott Jennings clashed with CNN host Montel Williams during a heated segment as they debated the motive of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old alleged killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

It took place after host Abby Phillip played a clip of Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray, who described Robinson’s left-wing politics and how they differed from his family’s.

Meanwhile, Williams pushed back against claims that Robinson’s actions were politically motivated, insisting they stemmed from personal emotion.

He said, "There’s so much more that needs to be said."

Williams referred to Robinson’s text messages and added, "When asked, 'How long you thinking about this?', [he said] a week and a half… It wasn’t, 'I’ve been thinking about this for the last year and a half.'"

He also argued that the narrative was being wrongly politicized.

Jennings pushed back strongly and rejected Williams’ take.

"Guys, guys… the evidence here is overwhelming," he said.

"'Charlie Kirk, I can’t stand his hate anymore. I’m going to take him out.' The testimony from him, and the statements of his family, he had become more left-wing," Jennings added.

He further mentioned, "He etched the statements that are made by the Left about Republicans, and conservatives, and Charlie Kirk, fascist on the bullet casings."

Meanwhile, Williams interjected, "He made a joke about it in his last text", as Jennings shot back, "Well, it doesn’t sound like a joke to me because someone’s dead and about to be buried. So it doesn’t sound like joke to me!"
