'Continue man:' Internet excited after Kevin Costner hints at 'Yellowstone' return after bitter exit
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kevin Costner may have left ‘Yellowstone,’ but it’s not all over yet!
The ‘Dances with Wolves’ star has said that he would like to return to the hit show, but it may take longer than he would like.
Kevin Costner would 'love' to make a 'Yellowstone' series return
Talking with ET on Tuesday, April 9, he said, "I'd like to be able to do it but we haven't been able to."
The 69-year-old added, "I thought I was going to make seven [seasons] but right now we're at five. So how it works out -- I hope it does -- but they've got a lot of different shows going on. Maybe it will. Maybe this will circle back to me. If it does and I feel really comfortable with [it], I'd love to do it."
In May 2023, Paramount revealed that the Western series will only have five seasons. Though, Costner shared that he had seven in mind, rather than five.
Reflecting on his character John Dutton, Costner said, "Well, you know, he needs to be proactive in what happens and I've kind of had my own fantasy how it might be."
Referring to show co-creator Taylor Sheridan, Costner said, "But that's Taylor's thing. I said as much to him a while back. I had thoughts how it could happen, but we just have to see. I had thoughts [about] how it could happen, but we just have to see."
On being asked about his exit from the show, Costner suggested in September 2023 that it was mostly due to creative issues, and also splitting season 5 into two parts.
“I couldn’t help them any more. We tried to negotiate, they offered me less money than previous seasons, there were issues with the creative,” he told People.

"Kevin don't ever ask Rachel Meghan Markel to appear in any movies. Your very talented and a handsome man," one person shared a suggestion for Costner.
