Cori Broadus, 26, revealed the loss in an emotional Instagram Stories post that featured a black-and-white photo of her smiling while holding her daughter close. Written across the image were the words, “Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” followed by an angel wing emoji.
She did not share details about the cause of death. The brief message, however, conveyed the depth of her grief and quickly resonated with followers, many of whom had watched Codi’s long fight to survive after being born extremely premature.
Broadus is Snoop Dogg’s youngest child and his only daughter. Over the years, she has been open about her personal struggles, including serious health challenges, often using social media to document both painful and hopeful moments in her life.
Baby Codi Dreaux’s father Wayne Deuce shares emotional tribute
Codi Dreaux’s father, Wayne Deuce, also paid tribute to his daughter through a series of Instagram Stories posts. He shared photos capturing tender moments with the baby during her life.
“I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you,” he wrote over one image of himself holding her.
In another post, he simply wrote, “My baby,” underscoring the depth of his loss and the bond he shared with his daughter.
A long and difficult journey after a premature birth
Broadus had previously revealed that Codi Dreaux was born three months early, arriving at just 25 weeks. In a February 2025 Instagram post announcing the birth, she described the emotional toll of the experience.
“The princess arrived at 6 months,” Broadus wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of the baby’s tiny foot. She admitted to struggling with guilt and fear, writing that she often blamed herself for not being able to protect her child.
Despite the uncertainty, Broadus expressed faith and gratitude throughout the journey. “Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s perfect as ever!” she wrote at the time.
She later disclosed that doctors performed an emergency C-section after she developed HELLP syndrome, a serious pregnancy complication affecting blood and liver function. Following her birth, Codi spent 10 months in the NICU as doctors worked to stabilize her condition.
In early January, Broadus shared a hopeful update when she was finally able to bring her daughter home. “She’s home,” she wrote on January 6, thanking supporters for their prayers. “God heard them all.”
Broadus had first announced her pregnancy in December 2024, sharing that she learned she was expecting on October 28.
