LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Kate Beckinsale, in a series of now-deleted social media comments, registered her resentment over being dropped by a talent agent for liking a Gaza ceasefire post.

Beckinsale also questioned whether being male is a privilege in Hollywood, as Mark Ruffalo faced no professional consequence for pro-Palestine activity.

In the comments, which Entertainment Weekly confirms were deleted shortly after they were posted, 52-year-old Beckinsale penned, "It must be so nice not to be fired by your agent for liking a post about a ceasefire and not supporting the murdering of children."

Her comments appeared under a promotional Instagram video, where a 58-year-old actor speaks about the new film Palestine 36.

Describing the situation as possible male privilege, the Underworld actress continued, "I guess having a p**is in Hollywood really counts for a lot because you've not been fired by the same agent that I had, and she sent me a gift the week before, so we didn't have any beef, but I liked a post about a ceasefire and I've got fired on the same day as Susan Sarandon was fired, two days after the end of the strike after nine months of none of us being able to work at all."

Actress Susan had spoken out about Gaza, demanding a ceasefire.

Beckinsale also talked about her emotional state.

Beckinsale said she was fired when she was going through a lot of personal losses, as she's long been open about her struggle with grief following the death of her mother, actress Judy Loe, in July 2025, her stepfather, Roy Battersby, in 2024, and her beloved cat, Clive, who died in 2023.

“I was dealing with the fact that on top of my mother having been told she had six weeks to live with brain cancer, and being [a] carer for both of them, the day before my stepfather had had a catastrophic stroke on top of two types of cancer," the star reportedly said in her now-deleted comment.

“I was preparing to fly to England to bring him (her stepfather) back so that I could take full care of him and I was fired in two sentences after 12 years of friendship with my Agent and yours who is very close to her elderly parents and definitely knew what I was dealing with, alone,” she highlighted her emotional state at the time.

Beckinsale did not name the agent in her comment, but she did tell Ruffalo, "I DMdyou [sic] about this months ago but you ignored me.”
