Dakota Johnson's rep addresses rumors on actress's split with fiance Chris Martin
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are not breaking up!
Amid reports of a split, the stars are still going strong, confirmed the ‘Madame Web’s representative.
“The reports are not true. They are happily together,” the rep shared on Friday, August 16.
How did Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin's split reports begin?
“They’ve had ups and downs, but now they’re definitely back on," the insider said a few weeks earlier about Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin's relationship "going strong."
Rumors of a split began circulating after Johnson was recently spotted without her engagement ring, reported the New York Post.
The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star was seen walking her dog and the absence of her significant ring sparked speculation about the couple's relationship status.
Recently, the Coldplay frontman did a show at Glastonbury Festival in the UK.
Johnson had frequently been seen attending Martin's concerts and showing her support, but notably, she did not attend Coldplay's recent European leg of the Music of the Spheres world tour in Germany.
Previously, a source claimed, "Chris and Dakota have tried desperately hard over the past few months to make their relationship work."
"They’ll always have love for each other but they’ve both come to the conclusion the relationship cannot be sustained long-term," the insider added, according to Daily Mail.
The source further explained that their increasingly busy schedule had put a strain on their relationship.
"They wanted it to work but it just hasn’t, and they’ve now accepted it is best to move on," the insider added.
The pair were reported to have started dating back in 2017, a year after Martin settled his divorce from ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow in 2016.
Gwyneth Paltrow's encouraged Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson's relationship
Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow famously ended their marriage in 2016 after 13 years of being together, coining the term "conscious uncoupling."
As per reports, it was said that the 'Sliding Doors' star stepped in when Johnson and Martin faced a rough patch and encouraged them to reconcile.
A source revealed, “Gwyneth is the one who pushed them to do it. Gwyneth is happy if Chris is happy; she only wants the best for him.”
In addition to wishing her ex-husband well, Paltrow, who is now married to Brad Falchuk, maintains a friendly relationship with him.
The former couple supports each other’s new relationships, with Martin even joining Paltrow, their children, and her new spouse on a family vacation for her and Falchuk’s honeymoon.
When rumors surfaced this year that Johnson and Martin were engaged, Paltrow is said to have given her blessing to the couple.
