Dalton Gomez’s sister slams Ariana Grande for hinting he cheated, says ‘his side of story' is different
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ariana Frande is getting called out by her former sister-in-law after the pop star implied in her new song that Dalton Gomez cheated on her.
Dalton’s sister, Tori, recently took to social media to dispel the rumor that Dalton cheated on Ariana.
Ariana Grande’s sister-in-law slams singer
The 30-year-old singer was married to Dalton, 28, for almost three years after tying the knot in 2021.
In September 2023, the ‘Bang Bang’ star and her estranged husband filed for divorce after separating.
Though the former couple never shared the reason for their split, fans of the ‘Thank U, Next’ singer hypothesized it was because of Dalton’s probable cheating.
Recently, the songstress released the song ‘Eternal Sunshine’ from the album of the same name, where she hinted at getting cheated by her former spouse.
The song starts with Ariana singing in an accusatory tone, “I’ve never seen someone lie like you do."
Elsewhere, she sings about a girl laying in her bed as the lyrics continue, “Now she’s in my bed, layin’ on your chest,” before going on, “Hope you feel alright when you’re in her.”
Based on these lines, the Arianators were quick to decide that Dalton cheated on his famous wife and slammed him for the alleged transgression.
However, his sister Tori dispelled the rumor in a Facebook comment where she stated boldly, “Dalton didn’t cheat on Ariana," before adding, "It’s unfair to jump to conclusions based solely on assumptions and the content of someone’s album."
Tori added that while the songstress’s new composition gives her perspective, it might not be the same for Dalton.
Hinting at a biased rendition of the events that went on between the two former spouses, she fired, "Ariana’s album gives her perspective, not necessarily Dalton’s.”
She concluded, "If he could speak, his side of the story might shed light on things differently.”
Soon after their separation, Ariana started dating her ‘Wicked’ costar Ethan Slater. In March 2024, the former couple settled the divorce.
Fans point out NDA is unfair to Dalton Gomez
After Tori's comment gained traction on social media, fans were quick to dissect the "if he could speak" remark on Reddit.
One of the fans said, "The “if he could speak” is rough. That man has been silenced."
Someone else added, "They both signed a NDA during the divorce settlement, but Ariana still released an album that heavily alludes to her previous relationship with Dalton, but because she didn’t say anything specific, she technically didn’t break the NDA, I think?"
"If tori is telling the truth, its super unfair & biased for the fandom to hate on dalton. he's a common man with no PR or security. scrutiny & criticism are fair but not when it turns into bullying. i wish we had a clearer picture of what really went on but again! who are we? an NDA has been signed, ariana is happy and healing, dragging her past again and again will only make her more distant from all of us," commented a third.
Another fan added, "I’m surprised she said even anything at all in album. I remember reading somewhere that both parties (during divorce) signed a contract and none of them can speak about it so it’s interesting that she half-way spoke about her pov about that marriage and he cannot."
