David Beckham on his closeness to Prince William
During a candid conversation at the World Economic Forum, Beckham stated, "Whenever the Prince of Wales sends me a message and says 'I need you to do this' or 'be there', it's always a 'yes.'"
He spoke of supporting causes close to the Prince of Wales, such as veteran welfare and raising funds for two new helicopters for London's Air Ambulance Charity.
"Over the years, I've done a lot with the Prince of Wales, and I've always been there whenever he's asked me to get involved with things," he noted.
On the subject of the Air Ambulance charity, Beckham continued, "These are the things that when I was a kid, I used to see the helicopters going over, and you knew exactly what they were going to do - on their way to an emergency. To be involved in that has always been a yes from me."
David Beckham reportedly holds 'major grudge' against Prince Harry
An insider source told In Touch Weekly that Beckham is "holding a major grudge" against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and is unwilling to allow his wife Victoria Beckham to mend the rift, the publication reported on Tuesday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were close to the Beckhams in the early days of their relationship, with the latter even attending their royal wedding in 2018.
However, things turned south soon afterward when Markle allegedly accused Victoria of leaking information to the press.
“Victoria has actually been much more forgiving than people realize, she was really hurt by the accusations that she was spreading gossip since that’s the last thing she would ever do,” the source told the publication. "But with time she’s mellowed about the whole, especially since Meghan has been reaching out to mend things.”
“The problem is David and her boys are still holding a major grudge. They’re super protective of her and don’t feel like she should give Meghan or Harry another chance,” they continued.
“They’re just so offended and angry on her behalf and think she’d being way too nice about it all. As far as they’re concerned there is no going back.”
