David Beckham's betrayal: Soccer star cheated on Victoria with many women, explosive tell-all book claims
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A new tell-all book about the Beckhams says they're not as perfect as they seem.
The book ‘House of Beckham’ by author Tom Bower claims David Beckham cheated on his wife Victoria Beckham a lot, and they even got in a fight at a music festival. One fight between the two even ended up in Victoria punching him in the face.
Bower suggests the Beckhams’ image of a happy family — which had an upbeat portrayal in Netflix’s 'Beckham' — is nothing more than a fragile thing, despite Victoria trying to keep the illusion of a 25-year strong marriage alive.
Among the spiciest claims about the couple’s relationship in the book is David’s alleged affairs.
David Beckham allegedly had countless affairs with other women
There have always been whispers that David cheated.
Bower’s book has named two women - Rebecca Loos and Sarah Marbeck, when it comes to David’s alleged affairs.
Bower also reports that five women allege having had affairs with David, the co-owner of Inter Miami Football Club.
According to the book, a waitress at a Hard Rock Cafe in Madrid wrote a letter to David's assistant Loos complaining that he didn't leave a tip. When he learned of the note, he offered Loos a wad of Euros to give to the waitress.
This apparently made Loos so upset that she spoke out about their alleged affair in 2004. David has, however, denied the affair.
Rebecca Loos
Rebecca Loos came forward in April 2004 claiming she had an affair with the soccer star the previous year while he was playing for Real Madrid.
This accusation arose less than five years after David and Victoria married and welcomed their second son, Romeo, on September 1, 2002.
“It was wrong to do what I did, I know that, but it did happen and I’m not going to live a lie for the rest of my life,” Loos stated. “I’m not trying to give the image of a fairytale, I’m just trying to be myself.”
David responded with a statement denying Loos’ allegations. “During the past few months, I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life,” he said.
“What appeared this morning is just one further example. The simple truth is that I am very happily married and have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change this.”
Victoria was in Spain at the time when David denied the allegations and she “was lonely and unhappy,” says Bower. “Although she had everything money could buy she was isolated,” he writes in the book.
“With few friends, she was unwilling to learn Spanish. Her diet, rigorous exercise and chain-smoking reflected her anxieties.,” he writes.
Victoria even referenced the affair and its impact on her during the ‘Beckham’ docuseries. “It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life,” she confessed.
Sarah Marbeck
Another affair the book details begins with claims about David's behavior at his agent's office. It says he seemed to be checking out all the women there. While some relished the attention, others thought it was 'weird'.
One woman, an Australian model named Marbeck, says David compared their relationship to characters from Peter Pan, calling himself Peter Pan, his wife Victoria as Wendy, and even nicknamed her as Tinkerbell.
The book also says David told Marbeck he wanted a real-life 'Pretty Woman' situation, where he fantasized about picking up Victoria as a call girl, just like Richard Gere's character in the film.
According to the book, Marbeck claims that she and David exchanged flirty texts for two years and even had a physical relationship.
These texts were apparently quite explicit, states a report in Life&Style.
The book also claims Marbeck flew to Leeds, England, to watch David in a game against Italy in March 2002, and later they had sex at the team hotel, despite David supposedly reminding her to be careful because of his wife, Victoria (whom he called "Wendy" in the texts).
David denied everything, calling it "absurd," and Victoria publicly supported him, saying they'd faced multiple challenges.
Victoria also stood by her husband’s side, adding, “We have been through a lot worse than this, and we’re definitely going to get through this.”
In August 2002, David is alleged to have cheated with a woman named Celina Laurie while in Denmark. According to the book, they met in a bar at his soccer team’s hotel.
Victoria Beckham’s reaction to David Beckham’s alleged affairs was punching him
Bower claims Victoria even punched him after he supposedly kissed Loos while she was pregnant with their first child, Brooklyn, in 1998.
Victoria herself mentioned this in her memoir ‘Learning to Fly: The Autobiography’ where she said “I hadn’t planned it. I hadn’t punched anybody before. Just instinct. I just felt angry and hurt.”
Strangely, despite her being incensed, they still got married the next year (1999). Victoria has always said she couldn't handle 'infidelity', and Bower also claims in the book that David may have tried to keep some women quiet with NDAs.
Victoria and David began dating in 1997 but, due to their high profiles — Victoria as a global pop star and David as an English soccer sensation — they tried to keep their relationship under wraps.
“My manager kept saying: ‘Try and keep it under wraps,’” Victoria revealed in the 2023 Netflix docuseries ‘Beckham’. “So, we would meet in car parks and that’s not as seedy as it sounds.”
Despite David's alleged infidelity before their wedding, rumors of unfaithfulness persisted throughout their marriage.
