KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: The mystery surrounding the deaths of Kansas City Chiefs fans continues to intensify as the investigation progresses. The parents of one of the deceased believe that their son and his friends "saw something they shouldn't have."

On January 9, the bodies of David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, were discovered in the backyard of Jordan Willis' residence in Kansas City, Missouri.

The trio had been at Willis' place since January 7, where they, along with an unidentified fifth friend, had gathered to watch the Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers, per Daily Mail.

What did David Harrington's father say?

While the authorities are still waiting for the toxicology reports, the families of the deceased are firm in their belief that there's more to their loved ones' mysterious deaths.

Despite the suspicious circumstances, no arrests have been made, and the case is not currently being treated as a homicide by the police.

David Harrington's father Jon expressed his belief that the three men might have "learned something" or "saw something that they shouldn't have," prior to their untimely deaths.

The father said to Fox News Digital, "[Harrington's mother] and I are both convinced that Jordan Willis played a part in this somehow."

He added, "We just haven't figured out how yet. What else could it be? Perfectly healthy men don't just drop off the face of the earth."

"There were four of you in the house and now three of them are dead and you're not. That doesn't add up."

"I'm thinking that he, the three of them learned something or saw something that they shouldn't have seen, and he decided 'well, I need to get rid of you now.' Friends or not."

Awaiting toxicology reports

Harrington's father alluded to the speculation that the demise of the men might be drug-related. Meanwhile, authorities are in anticipation of the toxicology reports.

"I'm aware that they may have done some substances that were questionable – but the idea was to get high, not dead. If they were supposed to be friends, why didn't [Willis] come find them," stated Harrington senior.

"I'm sure they have a hundred different answers to that, but that's my question."

Ricky Johnson's father's shocking allegation

John Picerno, the attorney representing Willis, suggested that the men may have succumbed to hypothermia, given that the temperature on the day of the game was a chilling 29 degrees and stayed below freezing for the subsequent two days, according to USA Today.

However, the official cause and manner of death are yet to be confirmed, pending an autopsy.

Contrarily, Ricki Johnson Sr, the father of Ricky Johnson, expressed his grief to Fox News Digital, asserting that his son was not "irresponsible" to venture outside without a coat and freeze to death alongside his friends.

He went on to level a serious accusation against Willis, a renowned HIV data scientist, alleging that he had drugged the men and deliberately exposed them to the harsh weather conditions.

"I believe he drugged them, dragged them outside, and waited two days to call police," the father stated.

"He may have done some drugs and stuff in the past, but I do not believe all three of them did drugs and fell over dead in that backyard."

In spite of the circulating speculations, Willis has not been charged with any crime or accused of any impropriety.

Captain Jake Becchina of the Kansas City Police Department has reportedly stated that the case is not being investigated as a homicide.
