Demi Moore admits it 'would have been wonderful to have won' amid lingering disappointment

Demi Moore had won the SAG Award, Golden Globe, and Critics' Choice Award earlier in the season for her role as Elisabeth Sparkle, an aging actress in the sci-fi film 'The Substance'  who undergoes injections to become a younger version of herself.

“The physical, human part that has ego, of course, has disappointment,” Moore said. “It certainly would have been wonderful to have won.”

In her Golden Globe speech, Moore had reflected on her early career: “At that time I made that mean that this wasn’t something that I was allowed to have, that I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money.”

“But that I couldn’t be acknowledged and I bought in and I believed that. And that corroded me over a time," she continued.

She added, “This is a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me and for the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong.”

Mikey Madison says, 'Hollywood always felt so far away from me'

The internet reacted strongly after Mikey Madison’s win over Demi Moore in March.

“This is very surreal,” Madison said during her Oscars acceptance speech. “I grew up in Los Angeles, but Hollywood always felt so far away from me, so to be here, standing in this room today is really incredible," she continued.

“I just want to recognize and honor the sex worker community,” said Madison, who portrayed the worker in Anora.

“Yes. I will continue to support and be an ally. All of the incredible people, the women that I’ve had the privilege of meeting from that community has been one of the highlights of this incredible experience, she said.
