Heming emphasized the importance of education and understanding, noting that reaching a diagnosis was pivotal.
“This disease is misdiagnosed, it’s missed, it’s misunderstood. Learning about frontotemporal dementia allowed me to educate our children,” she said.
While she avoids discussing the terminal nature of the disease with her daughters, Heming ensures they are equipped to process their father’s struggles.
“What I learned from our therapist was that if children ask questions, they’re ready to know the answer,” she explained.
Both Demi Moore and Emma Heming continue to highlight the importance of love, communication, and acceptance as they navigate this journey together.
“It’s about coming together,” Moore reflected “And for that, I’m really so grateful.”
