LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Demi Moore provided a positive update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis amid his dementia.

The 61-year-old actress, who has maintained a close friendship with Willis despite their divorce in 2000, spoke about his health during her appearance on 'Good Morning America' on Wednesday, January 31.

Demi Moore opens up about her children spending time with Bruce Willis

Moore shared on the morning television show that "given the givens," Willis has been "doing very well."

The 'Die Hard' actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in March 2020. The condition led the actor to struggle with aphasia, a brain-mediated inability to speak or understand speech, according to ET.

Amid Willis' declining health, his wife Emma Heming, along with their two children, Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, nine, and his ex-wife Moore and their three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, have been spending a lot of family time with him.

"What I'll say is what I say to my children, which is it's important to just meet them where they're at and not hold onto what isn't because there's great beauty and sweetness and loving and joy out of that," Moore told host George Stephanopoulos.

Demi Moore reflects on living with a family member dealing with dementia

During her appearance on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show Radio Andy, the 'Capote Vs The Swans' star previously reflected on living with a family member dealing with dementia and shared advice for families in a similar situation.

"What message do you have for people out there who have family members who have dementia? Who are maybe caring for them or in their lives?" Cohen asked Moore.

"I think the most important thing I could share is just to meet them where they're at," said Moore.

"When you let go of who they've been or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present and take in the joy and the love that is present and there for all that they are, not all that they're not," she explained.

Emma Heming opens up on her experience as a caretaker for her husband Bruce Willis

Heming, who has been an integral part of Willis' support, opened up about her experience as caretaker of her husband since his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia while caring for their two young children.

"It’s hard on the person diagnosed. It’s also hard on the family and that is no different for Bruce, or myself, or our girls," Heming said in September 2023.

"When they say this is a family disease, it really is," she added of the challenges involved in taking care of the actor.
