Insider claims Sean 'Diddy' Combs was unaware his call with Kanye West was being recorded
The source informed the outlet, "Puff didn’t know it was being recorded."
The insider added that Diddy "thought he was having a friend call him to check on his kids."
Interestingly, even though all prison calls are logged and recorded internally, those are not usually available to the public.

The insider confirmed that "the call was real and not AI" as they responded to social media speculation about the recording’s authenticity.
In October 2024, Diddy was incarcerated at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center since his September 16, 2024, arrest on charges of trafficking and racketeering.
The source said, "Diddy’s kids are in touch with Ye."
They added, "Ye is doing Ye. Ye wasn’t doing anything nefarious." The insider claimed the recording likely "happened organically".

About the call being leaked, they stated, "Diddy is collateral damage in the debacle over Ye’s new song – the beef is really with Kim."
The source added that the situation is "a matter of older influential Black men knowing these guys are kind of flying blindly."
West and Kim Kardashian got into an argument after the rapper featured their daughter North West’s vocals in 'Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine', his newly released track. The song also features Diddy.
West excerpted Diddy's words of gratitude from the recorded phone call and used them in the opening for the song.

The disgraced rapper warned West to "be careful" and encouraged him to get back to making music, according to Independent.

He added, "I need you out there, you feel me? And have some f**king fun, because we not having no fun in in here. Get back behind the mic, have some fun, chop up them samples."

Diddy also said, "Have some fun. Get back to smiling. F**k these other motherf***ers. They’ll waste your time."
"So put that love in your heart, and enjoy yourself, man. When I get out there, man, I want to see you f**king tear down the stadiums. I need to see you back on that stage, actually rapping and actually performing and everything. I be dreaming of that s**t," the jailed rapper said.

Diddy then added, "We gonna have years and decades to f**king fight these motherf***kers."
He further encouraged West and said, "Right now, enjoy your life. This is coming from me to God to you. Fall back in love like when you was making the beats in the Chi."
