BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Sean "Diddy" Combs is reportedly looking to his longtime friendship with President Donald Trump in a desperate bid to avoid a lengthy prison sentence, sources close to the disgraced music mogul claim.

Now behind bars at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, Diddy is facing a mountain of charges that could leave him locked up for decades, but according to Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, the rapper believes he still has one powerful card left to play, as per Radar Online.

"Donald was always a guest at Diddy’s legendary parties. They’ve known each other for years. Diddy admired Trump’s swagger – the bravado, the flash. He built part of his brand around that energy," a source said.

The two men go way back, with their mutual admiration publicly surfacing on Trump’s reality show 'The Apprentice' in 2012.

During one episode, singer Aubrey O’Day tried to leverage her work with Diddy as proof of her business acumen. "I have to say, I am a very strict and focused businesswoman because working for Diddy for six years trained me to have to be perfect," O'Day shared during the exchange.

Trump cut in, "Working for Diddy? I love Diddy. You know, he’s a good friend of mine. He’s a good guy. Is he a good guy?" When the singer sidestepped the question, the POTUS shrugged it off and said, "Oh well, I think he's a good guy, I'm going to stick up for him."

"Diddy thinks Donald owes him one. He’s counting on their history to keep him out of an orange jumpsuit," the source added.
