Diddy's lawyer levels racism allegations, claims Feds are trying to 'take down a successful Black man'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sean 'Diddy' Combs' attorney defended his client, claiming his arrest was a result of the federal government targeting a successful Black man.
The rap mogul's lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, appeared on TMZ's 'The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment' playing the race card by holding the feds responsible for Diddy's arrest on severe sexual trafficking and racketeering charges.
Speaking on the recently released documentary, the former Manhattan Assistant District Attorney asserted the federal government was "historically no friend of the successful Black man," as per Daily Mail.
"He believes he's innocent."

Attorney claims government scrutinized Diddy for being Black
"They start making this case as a takedown of a successful Black man. This is the government scrutinizing his business, scrutinizing his taxes, he does everything right," Agnifilio claimed.
The lawyer further defended his client, saying that going into Diddy's bedroom was the government's last vestige to bring him down. According to him, the rapper, who as a Black man owned "some of the most important businesses," was now lowered into a "monster."
Homeland Security Officials arrested Diddy on September 16 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York City. He is currently behind bars at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting trial.
The charges against the 54-year-old dated back to 2008, alleging him of forcing women to take part in "freak-offs."
Attorney defends Diddy over his bulk purchase of baby oil
Earlier this year, federal agents raided Diddy's Miami and Los Angeles homes and confiscated "1000 bottles" of baby oil.
In another interview earlier this week, Agnifilo gave a bizarre reason for the massive amounts of baby oil bottles found at his client's home. According to him, a Costco was right down the street from Diddy's home, and Americans brought everything in bulk.
"These are consensual adults doing what consensual adults do, you know, we can't get so puritanical in this country to think that somehow sex is a bad thing because if it was, there would be no more people," the attorney added.
However, Costco has confirmed that they do not sell baby oil at any of their locations nationwide.
Diddy's arrest stemmed from nearly a year-long abuse allegations that started with his former partner Cassie Ventura. Since being arrested, the rap mogul pleaded for bail on a $50 million bond collateral, but the court denied it.
Internet slams Diddy's attorney for defending his client by playing the race card
Agnifilo's attempt to accuse the federal government of targetting a successful Black man over Diddy's arrest backfired online. Netizens called out the attorney, saying the allegations against the singer had nothing to do with his race.
"Race card gets old. Argument of the intellectualy weak," a user said.
"Proof that people will say what you want them to if you pay them enough," another added,
"Diddy's Lawyer Blames Racism For His Client's Downfall, Denounces Deliberate 'Takedown of a Successful Black Man' His lawyer is clutching at straws. Many of his accusers are black men. Let's see how that plays out in court. The race card is worn out...." one user wrote.

"Lawyer being paid up come up with bizarre claims and only shows the desperation," an individual commented on Daily Mail's article.
"I know the lawyer is supposed to act on behalf of his client but this is ridiculous! Does he really think a white person would get away with the things Diddy has been charged with? Really!!!" someone else argued.
