WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump claimed any Jewish voter who supports Democrats "hates their religion" and "everything about Israel," reported CNN.

Trump made this statement during a podcast interview with his ex-White House aide, Sebastian Gorka, in response to questions about the Biden administration and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's critique of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"I actually think they hate Israel. I don't think they hate him, I think they hate Israel. And the Democrat Party hates Israel," the GOP presumptive nominee said in the interview aired on Monday, March 18.

"Any Jewish person that votes for Democrats hates their religion," Trump argued, adding, "They hate everything about Israel, and they should be ashamed of themselves because Israel will be destroyed."

President Joe Biden has begun criticizing Netanyahu's actions in Gaza under pressure from left-leaning Democrats, who are calling for Biden to actively pursue a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Furthermore, the Biden administration's shift in policy towards their longtime ally resulted from the Israeli PM's decision to launch an offensive in Rafah, where more than a million displaced Palestinians have sought refuge, defying international opposition.

Donald Trump slams Chuck Schumer

Trump lashed out at Schumer, a top Jewish elected official, accusing him of turning "very anti-Israel." The Senate majority leader last week demanded Israel conduct new elections, claiming Netanyahu's coalition government "lost his way," pushing Gaza into a humanitarian crisis.

"Don't forget, when you see those Palestinian marches, even I, I'm amazed at how many people are in those marches. And guys like Schumer see that, and to him it's votes, I think it's votes more than anything else because he was always pro-Israel. He's very anti-Israel now," the White House hopeful slammed Schumer.

The New York Democrat hit back at Trump, writing on X, "To make Israel a partisan issue only hurts Israel and the US-Israeli relationship. Trump is making highly partisan and hateful rants."

"I am working in a bipartisan way to ensure the US-Israeli relationship sustains for generations to come, buoyed by peace in the Middle East," the Senator added.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates responded to the ex-president's claims, noting antisemitic incidents have increased at a global level after the Israel-Hamas war broke out in October 2023.

"There is no justification for spreading toxic, false stereotypes that threaten fellow citizens. None," the statement said.

Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer said Trump should be the one ashamed because he "openly demeans Jewish Americans and reportedly thinks Adolf Hitler 'did some good things,'" referring to reports of the ex-president praising authoritarian leaders in private.

According to a 2020 survey by the Pew Research Center, seven in ten Jewish adults align with the Democratic Party, and half identify their political stance as liberal.

"This is easily the most condescending, paternalistic, antisemitic garbage that I've every heard from a politician," a response read. [sic]

Someone else wrote, "This is your antisemitic, fascist monster @GOP."

"He makes these idiotic statements with no reasoning. Just blanket statements that we are to take as fact because," a person stated.
