CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA: Country music icon Dolly Parton has reaffirmed her dedication and generosity to her community by announcing an additional donation of $1 million to support the victims of Hurricane Helene.
This substantial contribution follows her previous $2 million donation, underscoring her dedication to supporting the recovery efforts in the affected regions.

Over the weekend, Luke Combs and Eric Church held their grand Concert for Carolina benefit show, raising over $24.5 million for Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
A significant portion of their native western North Carolina suffered devastating floods at the end of September.
Although Dolly Parton, one of Appalachia's most beloved figures, was not present, host Marty Smith conveyed on her behalf that she is contributing an additional $1 million to the Hurricane Helene relief efforts, according to Whiskey Riff.
Smith conveyed a message from Dolly to the audience at Bank of America Stadium, expressing her desire to assist "our people with recovery" to the fullest extent possible.
She read, “So I want you to know, that I’m directing one million dollars on his behalf to the Concert for Carolina to my neighbors in North Carolina for recovery efforts."
Parton's words further read, "I know money won’t solve all the pain and suffering these floods have caused, but maybe it will help some of our people with recovery. It will take all of us working together, but we can do it. Love, Dolly.”
The latest contribution is sourced from the Courage and Civility Award, which she received from Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos, and his partner Lauren Sanchez.

Dolly Parton has already contributed $1 million from her funds and an additional $1 million from her business ventures towards recovery initiatives.
On October 3, the 78-year-old legend delivered a heartfelt announcement at a Walmart in Newport, Tennessee, emphasizing the significance of supporting the community she considers home.
At a press conference, Dolly Parton conveyed her profound sadness about the destruction wrought by Hurricane Helene, stating her sentiments, "I really, really wish that we were all together for another reason, but we all have seen the devastation."
Parton said, "I mean who knew in our little part of the country here, where I was born and raised just right down the road, that we would have this kind of devastation?"
"And I look around, and I think: These are my mountains. These are my valleys. These are my rivers flowing like a stream. These are my people. These mountain colored rainbows. These are my people and this is my home," she added.
