Dolly Parton's pals 'shocked' as country icon is 'going with the flow'

According to insiders, the legendary singer of country music began consuming alcohol after associating with wealthy celebrities in the wine industry, such as Francis Ford Coppola, Brad Pitt, and Cameron Diaz.

Along with champagne, rosa, and chardonnay wines, Parton's collection includes a sparkling wine that recently arrived in Australia.

Parton has been reported to be involved in all stages of the 'Dolly' winemaking process, including tasting.

An insider revealed to Closer Weekly, "She rarely touched a drop before, but now that she’s released her Dolly Wines she’s going with the flow — literally!"

"For instance, the prosecco makes her feel all sparkly and happy. It really keeps the blues away. She doesn’t need a therapist — she has her wine," they added.

The source added: "Some of her pals are shocked and worry she may be taking a tipple too much. It seems so out of character, but Dolly figures at this stage in her life why not indulge in the simple pleasures."

"A nice chardonnay or glass of bubbly helps Dolly unwind. She’s having a marvelous time. Now, she knows what she’s been missing all these years — and she’s certainly making up for it!" the insider exclaimed.

The country music celebrity stood up for Elle King when her younger friend appeared to be intoxicated at a Dolly tribute show back in January.

King, 35, begged the audience to "Don't tell Dolly, 'cause it’s her birthday," slurred her speech, missed the words to one of Parton's songs, and used some foul language.

Following the humiliating event, Parton extended her assistance. "Elle is a really great artist, she’s a great girl and she’s been going through a lot of hard things lately, and she just had a little too much to drink," she said.

"So, let’s just forgive that and forget it and move on because she felt worse than anybody ever could," Parton added.
