MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump speculated on Thursday that "employers of millions of people" are fleeing New York disgruntled by his ongoing hush money criminal trial proceedings, according to Mediaite.

Quoting Jeremy Hunt, a media fellow at the Hudson Institute, Trump told reporters on Thursday afternoon outside the Manhattan criminal courthouse, "This is about one man, [Manhattan District Attorney] Alvin Bragg, who puts his political ambition over the rule of law and the judicial system."

Donald Trump's remarks outside courthouse

The 77-year-old embattled ex-president remarked, “New York has got to do something about what’s happening because you look at Judge Engoron, you look at Judge Kaplan, what they’ve done, it’s disgraceful.”

“Everyone’s laughing at the New York system and companies are leaving, people are leaving, but major companies with tremendous taxpayer dollars and employers of millions of people, literally,” Trump claimed.

“People are leaving, they’re taking their companies and they’re all watching this case,” the presumptive Republican nominee said in conclusion.

Furthermore, a group of Trump’s close allies, including Reps Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO), denounced the ongoing hush money criminal trial and derided Judge Juan Merchan and his daughter outside the Manhattan courthouse on Thursday.

“You got a corrupt judge whose daughter is one of the leading fundraisers for the Democrat Party, having raised $100 million. That’s the judge’s daughter!” Rep Bob Good (R-VA) alleged. “This is a crooked sham trial.”

Rep Andy Ogles (R-TN) disparaged adult film star Stormy Daniels and former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, a crucial witness in the hush money trial, calling them "hookers" and "felons" in the process.

Internet trolls Donald Trump for suggesting wealthy are leaving NY

One X user said, "New Yorkers hate Trump; no one's leaving because of his trial, they're waiting to celebrate when he's convicted."

Another remarked, "Please. NYC can't get much more blue than it already is. He's insane."

Someone else wrote, "Wow, you can practically see the wheels turning as he makes up that ridiculous lie in real time."

One user claimed, "Many leave, some come back and then leave again, some leave and come back. Many still **DREAM** of living here None of that because of this case/ this man."

Another quipped, "I could maybe believe that millions of New Yorkers wanted to leave during his trials, with plans to return immediately after they're completed."

"But Trump would never lie about MILLIONS of people doing something they didn’t do like, say, voting more than once or invading the country in caravans," a tweet read.
